I’m out until DJ is. Peace.

When's the best time to fire a coach? When we're surely out of the playoffs?
I'm not talking about the merits of it, I'm talking about the reality of it. Dorion didn't have to talk to the media today & he wouldn't have done so if anything was imminent. DJ will most likely be fired, but it's not happening just yet.

Seriously.. the only thing that will help right now is a coaching change. Leaving this dumpster fire to continue burning is on Dorion. The players will get a shake up, proper systems will be implemented, and Zaitsev will never play again.

We need to play at a president's trophy pace from here to make the playoffs.

In other words, the sacred deserve-to-win-o-meter cannot fail us.

If the league extends the season to 102 games and the computer runs the simulation 1000 times we get to play meaningful games 57.2% of the time so I’m not sure what you’re so upset about.

honestly this is kind of funny now, dorion literally had the fanbase forgive him this offseason and he is betting his gm career on DJ who is betting his coaching career on Zaitsev

its very ottawa to make almost all the needed moves and then stop

Just wait out new ownership.

Dorion will be sent packing immediately, and then the new GM will be given reign to hire a coach.

Not much point in hiring a new coach, only to have a new GM come in and want to bring in another.

There's probably a lot of guys chomping at the bit for a one year NHL coaching audition.

lol

I meant out as in giving a sh*t game in and game out, not about being around here (I don’t exactly light up these boards with posts anyway…I lurk a lot though).

Just gutted. So much hope and it’s gone so quickly barring a miracle. I need to not see this guy behind the bench anymore. It’s the only meaningful change we can make right now to try snapping out of this.

Probably time for a shakeup. Brutal start to the season again is just not acceptable with the expectations the team has for itself at this stage.

DJ was the right one when the young guys came in as he has a lot of positive experience and knowledge in this area.
He is the wrong guy to coach a team to become a successful one now as the young guys have solidified.
They need both a tougher and a more experienced person.

DJ himself needs to reach a different level, he should be looking for an assistant position with an experienced coach and learn so he can one day be a good NHL coach. He does have what it takes imo.

We heard this when Eugene died.

Too many regulation losses to be feeling comfortable. These last two losses are making me change my mind.
Time for a new look, before this season can be written off.
