Mesar is clearly not too good for the OHL, but he is playing on a trash team with poor level players, trade him to a decent team with better structure and he will be back at producing close to a 1,5 PPG pace.

If he can't get it done in the OHL due to different " communication queues and language", how do you expect him to do better in the AHL (or god forbid the NHL)?

The OHL is the right spot for him to get accustomed to NA. He'll also most likely will get traded to a OHL contender, so he'll get some playoff experience (which wouldn't be likely in the AHL/NHL).

You know what i think you know all the answers to your questions.

If he's traded to a contender that will be great, i dont think he's got anything to prove in kitchener anymore

I think the only reason he's not in the NHL right now is because he's 5.10 and not 6.4

I think his IQ, vision , playmaking, puck control on tight areas are elite

His shot is medium but thats ok

He needs to work on his speed

You see, the reason why Mesar isn't lighting the OHL on fire is because he's so advanced from playing with the elite talent in Tipos Extraliga that he literally can't even comprehend what his eyes are seeing in the dumpster fire that is the OHL. He's like Isaac Newton trying to fit in at a highschool party, none of it makes sense to him due to his big throbbing brain.

Luckily this bodes super well for his career in the super NHL.
I legit Lol to the level of sarcasm in this😂

Mario is the greatest of all time and it's not even close. There's a list of reasons why.
I’m not ready to there. But his junior year and 93 when he returned from cancer, were two things that showed just dominant he could be

He got rocked down solidly a couple of times this year in the OHL, he is an undersized 18 yr old kid adapting to N.A. hockey, he has some great tools that will translate well, but he is far from being NHL ready. OHL is where he should be, just very unfortunate its Kitchener.

This looks like a Shane Wright pre draft report

I’m not defending the what has so far been inept coaching, but I think we need to hold on this particular narrative. He said in the post game that the officials told him he couldn’t use Mesar because he wasn’t on the ice at the time.
I just reviewed the sequence and Rehkopf left the ice before Mesar, about 10-15 seconds before the goal, so it makes no sense.

NotProkofievian doing his usual misinformation job. Nobody ever said that 2nd tier men league was filled of great players, neither the Liiga is, but thats still a pro men league filled of growth men, strong skaters, a league that isnt easy to crack, especially for kids in their draft year, even less easy to produce offensively. You know it, you are living in Finland, there is a world of difference between the pace of a pro league vs a junior league. The clash in term of pace for Mesar is real, Kitchener execute slowly and poorly, I know you are having fun right now to see him struggle to produce offensively, but kid will adjust and still end up with a respectable PPG rate, his tools are too good to stay put.

Now lets see if your Crystall guy is legit or just one of your long list busts.

I think Habs should had drafted Beck instead of Mesar in the 1st round , and then grab Firkus with pick #33

Your point stands, just to clarify, Liiga is in Finland, Tipos Extraliga is in Slovakia.
Mesar played in Slovakia.

LOL......his speed is his greatest asset.

Even when you drool over your favourite player you manage to mess it up.

Yeah Im not that dumb, Im only saying that both Liiga and Extraliga are filled with good athletes with limited hockey talent. Those guys can skate, hit and play responsible 2-way hockey similar to what we have in the farm with guys like Belzile, Abbandonato, Gignac ect..

There's the experience factor and maturity, some one who's been playing for 5-10 years in a pro league is. going to act and react differently from someone who's still in high school and who's been offensively burning the minor leagues as a teenager.

I think for the NHL Mesar will be better suited to play with men rather than try and fit in a new country surrounded by high school kids.

You talk like Mesar is more mature and advanced than the other kids who's literally the same age as him. Come on now. Pinnelli played in a pro league with men, did he play enough to understand Mesar? lol

To be fair, that league Pinnelli played in is like walking to your local rink on a Saturday morning and asking to play.

At the draft time, I didn't know Beck. At 33rd pick, I hoped for Hutson or Firkus. Any idea how is Firkus now ?
