Ah now they on right path. What I see of it development is about playing. Getting 18-20 minutes a night in OHL is usually superior than 4th line minutes in AHL. Extra 10 minutes each night is a lot more playing at end of season

Slaf is making things happen in the NHL, the production hasn’t been there but he’s looked good. He’s going to learn more playing at the correct pace then playing against plugs in the AHL that’ll just be out head hunting him.

Habs have made the right calls up to now, Slaf could be AHL bound as well if his game slips. We’ll see where it goes, but so far so good.

I'm not a big fan of a player who played against men in Europe, now is going to play against junior aged players.

But it's a bit of a difficult situation given it doesn't look like there's a meaningful role on Laval for him right now.

Hopefully Mesar doesn't pout and makes the most of it lighting the league up.

I don't think he's going to pout, since Mesar knows he's still 2 years away from the NHL physically, he said as much during camp.

Feel sorry for Mesar. He clearly didn't want this. I also don't think it's the right move.

But happy I don't have to pay for AHL tickets tonight as well!

Let's hope he crushes the league instead of being annoyed and picking up bad habits.

So happy about this. I want Mesar to play a key role in Habs success for years to come. I didn't like the idea of him playing 4th line minutes so this is fantastic news for his long term development.

I'm sure he's not too happy about the move but I am also hoping he at least understands it's all part of the process.

Let Mesar slap around the O this year and then bring him up to Laval top 6 for next season and continue to watch him grow.

Worst case I see him being NHL ready for 2024-2025. Best case, he's ready next year

Mesar in junior is the best thing for his development. He needs time to develop physically and junior is the right place for him. Hope he tears it up.

They're terrible. Already 0-5. Hopefully they trade him to a better team later this year. I'm sure that was part of the reluctance to send him there.

OTOH, he's guaranteed top PP minutes, PK, and ice time in all important situations. Benefit of playing on a crap team.

They have 2 Czech players: (D) Tomas Hamara (2022 drafted, plays on Czech National team), who Mesar should be really familiar with & Adam Zidlicky (2023 draft eligible).

Pinelli is still there (2021 drafted), and they have a 2023 1st round rated D in Hunter Brzustewicz.

There is some talent there, but not a lot.

The GM is Mike McKenzie who is Bob McKenzie's son (TSN).
