The fact that he looked rough, got sent down..... he put his head down, got his heart rate where it needed to be and laughed at the barber when he brought out the clippers. I heard his banter is improving

Seriously, he's a pivotal piece to the puzzle

“I just think he’s doing the right things,” said Chris Kreider, who has played both games on Chytil’s left with Pavel Buchnevich on the right to make up the second line. “He’s doing the little things that lead to success. The details, playing good defense, and then that’s leading to his offense. I think that’s something that if he can consistently focus on it, then he’s going to have an impact on games, and coaches are going to be able to rely on him.”

He’s owned the walls and looks much more assertive.

Assertion is a big thing with Chytil.

I’ve said it for a few years now, but when Chytil imposes his will — uses his size/speed combination, creates room for himself, etc., his game really takes off.

If he can do that consistently, his frame (which isn’t close to fully mature) is going back off a lot of NHL players. That’s a key difference between the player he is in the AHL and the NHL right now, and him taking the next step would be a tremendous asset to this team.

Great game last night! Not just episodes.

He only got in trouble against speedy Wings when he overstayed on the ice, on a few such occasions - through no fault of his own.

He was an absolute horse last night. Never stopped skating gave the canes fits. Won so many battles. He’s barely 20. So it’s not like he could physically do this at this level until now but he just seems so locked on the puck just exactly how he looked in the A he’s brought it here and he’s doing it in all 3 zones. I thought he was our best defensive center last night frankly. He’s only going to get stronger as he fills out. I don’t know what you do to stop him at that point when he wants to hold on to the puck and make plays. I think eventually he should get some mins in front of the net on a pp unit maybe if CK is moved. I like him more there than on the wall.

again this kid is barely 20 years old. He’s only going to get bigger stronger and faster

I agree if he can continue to use his frame as he has so far since he has been called up the floor for him is 2C. He already has the size just has to fill out a bit more and stay confident.

If he remembers that he is actually big and fast, he can impose his will because as you say, he is only going to get bigger and faster. This may come as a shock to some but playing as a 19 year old against men in the best league in the world can be intimidating.

Let's hope he remembers his traits.

it’s a good point and I think he found some of that in Hartford with all the ice time in different situations. Think he learned a lot about himself in that time. He’s a confident kid. Always has been doesn’t come thru because of the language barrier but I think he’s gaining more and more confidence as he goes here. I mean fast forward two seasons and he’s barely turning 22 he’ll be a handful
