Friedman saying EP is the only untouchable but it would take a massive offer for Hughes.
Management says the right things, I'll give them that. EP should be the only untouchable.
Doubt Hughes goes anywhere and the fanbase would go crazy.. but that's definitely a move they should consider. Return would be insane and you can get use out of OEL as a PP1/sheltered guy in the Hughes role.

If the Devils are serious about acquiring Quinn we should be able to pull Nemec + 1st 2023 + 1st 2024 from them as the baseline of the package with cap coming back with other picks/prospects.
Trade Quinn Hughes? sure if the offer is a huge overpayment. He's a unique talent.
He's not a perfect in the sense that at times he has trouble defending deep in the d zone. But he's been dealt such a poor hand.
First year, plays with Tanev, and he produces, and even produce into the playoffs. I think people forget how good Quinn was in the bubble, when he was actually paired with a good defender.
Then since then, he's played with rhd like Myers, Schenn, Hamonic, etc..
He's currently playing with Luke Schenn - He's played above his paygrade, but he's a bottom pairing dman on a good team.
He's probably not even healthy right now. Been a game time decision not too long ago.
Even Gretzky can be traded, so can Quinn, but you better get quality + quantity. I mean like 2 sure thing high end pieces+.

I mean, I never said OEL has been good? That's kind of the point, I think OEL is best served as a PP/sheltered guy vs his current role. If there's a different mix on defense you can use him more in that role vs the one he has now which is a poor fit.
It's all kind of a moot point, I don't think anyone expects Hughes to actually be traded.

Hughes is not the type of #1 you win cups with as has stalled in his progression.
If you trade him you need to get 2 premium prospects back plus some
IE Jiricek/Nemec + Sillinger/Cuelemen/Holtz + another asset or 2 + (probably a cap dump)

They've been saying the "right" things since they took over. They haven't acted accordingly.
I don't care what they say. JR/Allvin talk out of one mouth and s*** out the other. Make some decent transactions and I'll change my tune.

Yeah I don’t give a shit about interviews/leaks at this point after all the talk last season.
As far as IM concerned any major trade you make has to be bring in Young C's are Yound Dman. PIcks are great but they should not be the main piece in any major deal this team makes

Oh, absolutely. It's just words at this point, but I think it's good in that the rumoured circle of untouchables has gone from 3 to just 1. I don't think either Demko or Hughes should be untouchable and it seems like management has softened a bit as well.
I also still think it's highly unlikely those guys get traded so it probably doesn't matter.
They need to get Horvat figured out first. The comments last night from Allvin about them having two months or whatever to figure out Horvat are just so frustrating.

Unless your definition of good is players who have not been as good as hoped. The Canucks love those guys.

A couple days ago he had a video about 2 potential packages from NYI for Horvat
1 - Raty + 23 1st
2 - Bolduc + Odelius + 23 1st
He mentioned perhaps Vancouver might have to retain or take a cap dump back unless NYI dumps someone before the deal happens

Those are just trade proposals from the account. They are also not deals the Canucks would accept for Horvat.
You dont think so? Maybe some tweaking but they seem decent to me especially #2 since its 2 young dmen
