If Archie Bradley is available in your league, go pick him up. At the very least he's a Devenski clone, and I'd say there is 50% chance he either ends up the closer, or in the rotation. Couple this with the fact he has looked down-right NASTY, and you got yourself a fantasy stud on the bubble of becoming extremely relevant.

I posted in the MLB thread that I think they should give him a shot at closing. The Fernando Rodney experiment has gone just as everyone probably predicted.

Waiting on Bradley to have 4 more appearances for RP eligibility. I'm guessing that he will get it by next weekend or so, so I'll try to remember to add him a bit in advance and just wait. Thanks for the reminder - I was keeping an eye on him, but I've been a little checked out lately.

Bellinger ended up going for $5 in my league, and I missed due to my ranking in the process. I don't have regrets - $5 was already pretty aggressive, and I need to start using some money to address my pitching situation. I'm not really sure if there are any prospects slated for a mid-season callup, or anybody who is not quite a top prospect but might be an under the radar grab.

Not sure what people think of Josh Bell in fantasy, but just a note as a Pirates fan that he's really launched some powerful HRs recently. He's also markedly improved his defense, although Hurdle still stubbornly takes him out in the 7th or 8th inning (for John Jaso......).

I don't know that he'll be able to put everything together, but he might be an under the radar guy to contribute in short order. I haven't been rostering him because of both playing time concerns, and anti-Pirates homerism, but if you need some upside from a spot on your bench, soonish might be a good time for a speculative add.

How long do I wait on Dansby Swanson? He's not hurting anyone as he's usually on my bench save for when someones on an offday, but other than Harper I'm not getting much contributions in other categories. Have like 5 guys with high OBPs but that's all they're doing. Great in real life, not in fantasy. Plus I was a Marte owner.

What's everyone think of Joey Gallo? I got him in my AL-only league for $1. His average sucks but he's managing to get on base and crushing the ball -- .984 OPS so far.

I cut him like 10 days ago in my keeper league (max 4 so I would never keep him) if that means anything. Maybe he will turn things around in the second half. If you play on Yahoo I wouldnt hesitate since Im sure there are guys who are close to SS eligibility.

I hae Jon Gray on the DL, for at least another 2-3 weeks

Cespedes is now on the DL

I have three bench spots, should I drop Gray or just leave Cespedes active and work with 2 bench spots?

I need another option in lieu of Matt Boyd. He's been garbage since I added him, and his upside is basically just mediocre quality start (which in my league is an ok contribution - IF you avoid giving up too many HRs).

Thinking I might even just try and add Meadows for my bench, but he's still far enough away that it's probably too much of a wasted roster spot with Marte already occupying one.

What do you guys think of Kevin Gausman?

I have an opportunity to buy him in a dynasty, but unsure about him.

Dont think he'll ever be anything close to an ace unless he gets traded to like the Cubs or Pirates.

Since this is my first baseball pool I am not sure if this is normal or not, guy i am facing this week head to head is adding and dropping two starters each day (we have 6 moves a week), he was behind on pitching wins and k stat so he will drop two bad pitchers and pick up two starters for tomorrow, drop them, pick up two starters for the next day. Of course we count other pitching stats so it could backfire on him in other area's, but it will allow him to secure k and era.

Is this normal? Maybe its smart and I should tip my hat to him or is this a scenario where we need more rules in place?

I really like my pitchers this season. I finally had a decent week, but for where I picked players up, I like it.

How would you guys tier these guys?

Tier 1
Chris Sale

Tier 2
Carlos Martinez, James Paxton

Tier 3
Gio Gonzalez, Kenta Maeda

Tier 4
Adam Wainwright, Jeremy Hellickson, Kevin Gausman

Tier 5
Vince Velasquez, Charlie Morton, Eduardo Rodriguez, Joe Musgrove

I also have Garrett Richards and Drew Smyly stashed on my IR because why not. Someone picked up Ryu (who I dropped for Gausman) and dropped Gsellman. Who would you guys dump for Gsellman?

I've seen it before, luckily not too often. The only time I've come across the same situation you're experiencing is in the playoffs where winning that week is a must.

Overall, I don't like the abuse of streaming (dropping and adding depending on matchups) pitchers. Which is why most of the leagues I'm in that are h2h format, have a max of 3-4 moves per week limiting how you add players. I have one league that has a max of 2. That's probably the least I'd like. I've been running into a cold offense and injuries so my 2 moves for the week have been used up on monday. Interesting dynamic though.

The league I'm in has a max of 3 moves per week. I think it keeps everybody on their toes for the week. Any more than three moves a week is playing on easy mode.

I hope Eaton isn't out for long.

Tyler Glasnow was just dropped in my keeper league, so obviously I'm probably going to move to add him, but it might be better to hold off a little bit. My guess on him is that he will at best continue to flail around 5 IP for several more weeks, maybe never really putting it together at all this year, but even still having some bumps in the road after he puts it together.

That doesn't add up to a lot of fantasy usefulness, although obviously the ceiling is extremely tempting.

I'm basically of two minds: try to snag him for a dollar, assuming everyone is pretty down on him, or make sure I get him at $4 or so, and prepare to deal with slight difficulty in continuing to roster him (in the immediate future it isn't so difficult, since I can drop Matt Boyd, but eventually I have Matz and Nola returning, and my other droppables are Derek Norris, Morton, and maybe Cotton. None of those guys are obvious keeps for me over Glasnow, but I think all have higher floors (especially Morton, actually).
