We don't have NA spots in my league anyway, but I think I'm going to hold Marte on the bench for the time being. Outfield is now Mazara, K Davis, Eaton, Thames which is fine for right now, given how well three of them have played, and I have Dahl on the DL

Yikes! Buxton belongs nowhere near any fantasy roster right now. He even cleared waivers in one of my dynasty leagues where I cut him.
22 teams in mine, someone would take a flier considering a lot of the **** that gets carried by teams. I won't give up on him lol. But I'm not starting him in my lineup until he can turn it around. No need to get negative points every night. Rather just have an empty slot.

Ah, that sucks then. I didn't know how many teams. Yeah, bench him for now even if you have nobody to replace him.

I now regret the super aggressive bid I made on Thames a little less. Blasts a double right away today... my OF mix is now Polanco, Braun, Thames, and Haniger, so could be worse (one is U, obv). I am still unsure of my Marte replacement plan... part of me wants to stash Meadows, but I think it's relatively likely that the Pirates will still basically wait until halfway through the summer or later to bring him up, so stashing him means that I'd waste two roster spots most of the year. I'd be more inclined to do it as an anticipation that he'll be called up very soon. As a Pirates fan, I wouldn't totally rule it out -- he's turned it on lately, and in my opinion he is basically ready, but the Pirates have a guy in Frazier who is looking for more opportunities to play, and another guy in Osuna (who we just called up) who had a torrid spring, so I imagine that we'll at least want to see how things play out over the next few weeks.

I think I'll just grab one of the top guys on the wire. Not sure what the best play is...I'm actually leaning towards looking for someone who is more of an OBP/solid hitter type than a huge upside play, since I already snagged Thames. If I can just get someone who will give me solid numbers, that will be a good dependable option for now, since I already have some stars with Goldy, C. Seager, and I guess Polanco and Braun to a lesser extent.

I think I might just do a predictable Pirates fan thing and grab Freese. Some other options: Dickerson, Suarez, Margot, Mancini, Kepler.

First year doing a baseball pool, someone dropped todd fraizer, thinking of taking a chance on him, i already have arenado at 3rd and edwin at 1st but i could try him in one of my two utility spots.

But the question is who do i drop, runs, rbi,hr,sb,avg count for hitting and k,whip, era,sv,wins count for pitching.

I was thinking of dropping kintzler for him because minesotta never wins usually so he is not in many save situations, but closers are none existent in my league at the moment and since my closer picks were melancon and dyson and i dropped dyson to take bush but someone grabbed him before me so i have brad brach temporarily...so dropping a closer even for the twins seems like a bad idea? The other options are Samardzija or eickhoff for starters. Samardzija i am not a big fan of but he does have name value and decent history, dont know much about eickhoff but seemed like a decent starter so i grabbed him. Hitting i dont really want to drop anyone, i have brian mccann, victor martinez, schoop and ellsbury as utility guys.

Any suggestions on this one? Leaning toward samardzija or eickhoff but i could use some advice. Or do i not even take fraizer?

Drop V-Mart. You won't need him at all if you have Encarnacion and Frazier. Martinez is also not any better than the top free agent/waiver players in your league.

Does anyone know what the deal is with Contreras? He basically gets every 3rd day off. So frustrating. Is he working through an injury or does Maddon really just prefer Montero (half the time)?

I wanted to replace Marte so I pulled the trigger and traded Danny Salazar for Ozuna and Yasmani Tomas.

Bought high on Ozuna and I don't really like the trade but I think my pitching can take the hit. I feel pretty comfortable with Sale, CMart, Maeda, Paxton, Wainwright, Velasquez, Gonzalez, Musgrove, Morton, Hellickson and Rodriguez, with Richards stashed on my DL.

I feel for you guys. I've argued extensively with Yahoo to make suspended players NA eligible. Predicably got nowhere, but maybe an outpour of complaints with this most recent case will foster some change.

My league is on espn and you can't do that either. Just make them DL eligible. If they can be replaced on the roster in the MLB, then why can't I do it in fantasy?

This might be foolish, but my two most droppable pitchers (newly acquired Matt Boyd and Morton) aren't pitching until Saturday and Sunday, and so I'm thinking my wisest play is going to be simply waiting til next week to replace Marte, and hoping that they both put up quality starts. If both can get 25 points, that's about equivalent to what I'd realistically want from a FA replacement for 4 days... maybe if I hit it right, I get someone who exceeds that, but at least with Marte's spot I won't get any negative points.

Get Frazier. I'd cut Eickhoff. He's on a bad team in a bad ballpark for pitchers.

Any other nervous Hendricks owners out there besides me? His velocity is way down and I think it hurts him more than other pitchers. Tempted to drop him for Severino or another hot pitcher but Im holding for now.

Thames has been a solid pickup.

Who's been your best early season free agent pickups? I'm not necessarily talking guys who you intend on keeping for the whole year, but just players who have had the biggest impact in the first couple weeks. Let's just forget closers.

Thames
Suarez
C.Hernandez

Avisail Garcia has been really good. Same with Mark Reynolds.

Just traded Trumbo and Paxton for Encarnacion in my 12 team Roto league (1 year)

Was projected to go over my IP and am in last place in walks despite being in first place in the league.

Did I do okay? Close friends trying to tell me I got fleeced..
