Like I said I think he'll need "the Granlund" approach into NHL. He struggled as well in his first year and IMO they are pretty similar players with TT. Now he seems like he's miles behind Granlund and Barkov what it comes to young centers playing in finnish league. I saw him play in the preseason and that raised my expectations but he has been somewhat a disappointment this year. I don't remember which wing he played last year but if the Hawks have shortage at LW and TT can play the position, I think that would be his chance to play in the NHL next year. I love the guy and he really is a "floorball" guy so a year in the AHL would do him good.

He played mostly with Hardt and Moses in the pre-season. He hasn't played with them until the last 10 or so games before the break. That was the combination with the most/best chemistry.

Yeah, I'm not worried about the kid as he was told to work on his body and the smaller things in his game that make a better hockey player by the front office.

The reality is that TT has 13 points in 17 games with constant tweaking to his game, I doubt he'll play C for the Hawks but rather on the wing where his skill set will be on full display in two years.

Yup. Teravainen just cannot handle center duties. He should just play wing.

In the lead-up to the WJC, NHL.com just relased a little article on Teravainen.

Seemed like some of the Finns around here were starting to give up on TT- It seems he is starting to reach another level to his game.

i will admit it I was one of those people. To me he has been dissapointing in the FEL. But man oh man was he ever great in the WJC.

it would be nice to see Teräväinen in the NHL this season.

Well he was great (the best?) in the WJC but I personally want to see something more in the Liiga, let alone NHL. And I'm definitely not giving up on him. Actually I'm very high on him and I think he has the most offensive upside for all the young Finnish players. What I have been trying to say is that many Blackhawks fans expect him to be their 2C next year and I'm saying he probably won't be up to the challenge just yet, just like Granlund.

Teravainen - I dunno. He has some nice vision and passing ability but is he really a center? He doesn't look like a guy who could dominate down the middle. He has some RNH himself but not his center like quality. He should play wing. - And he hasn't musclemass to play center role either.

Great but problematic prospect. an odd ball.

I think he'd be a great winger. Looked great all tourney.

Looks like he just needs to add more strength if he is having issues in FEL but dominating other juniors.

He has been disappointing in FEL this season so far, but for a young player the environment he is in can have a huge effect. Markus Granlund was a much better player in the WJC last year than in FEL up to that point, and now the same happened with TT. Perhaps he can take something out of this great experience and be better with Jokerit as well.

Dude is very talented.

Hopefully he can make the transition to the NHL.

Teuvo was also the best PK-forward for Finland.

But I do agree that he may have problems in NHL. I would love to see a line Teuvo-anyone-Kane on Blackhawks. Just too much hands in that line, would be really exciting.

From what I understood TT had been asked to work on things in Liga sacrificing some of his game in the process but I would imagine TT has free range to do what ever he wants now after his 'audition' in the WJC- I'm not in on special meetings for the Hawks or anything but it seemed to be the common theme with TT at camp that he was going to work some things out this year in the FEL.

I don't really mind either way if he's a C or not, even if he becomes a winger it'll work out well since he will probably get a shot on the first line and Sharp will be moved down to help Kane on the second line- Kane and TT won't be on the same line as they're too similar.

While it being interesting to see both TT and Kane on the same line, I doubt it happens since they bring basically the same skill-set.

I think the RNH comparison is a good one - very similar skating style, vision, passing. But, RNH is accomplished on the smaller ice surface and has actually played against NHL players for a couple years now - TT has not and until he does nothing is guaranteed.

If - a very big IF - TT can play center in the NHL, I think it's more likely that he is not on the same line as Kane because the best situation would be to have very good defensive wingers with TT and although Kane's defensive game has gotten a lot better, he is still not a "very good" defensive winger. Put Sharp and Hossa on his wings:

Saad-Toews-Kane
Sharp-TT-Hossa

Which is exactly as we should have it right now, except with Pirri in for TT.

1. Will he play for Finland at the WC this year or come over to North America after the end of the Finnish season
2. Is he going to play in Finland Next Year
3. How close is he NHL ready

1. Will he play for Finland at the WC this year or come over to North America after the end of the Finnish season
2. Is he going to play in Finland Next Year
3. How close is he NHL ready

1. It is possible as it is Olympic year and the WC won't attract so many NHL-players. If I was the coach I would find him a role. So it is possible but not very likely.
2. He has said that his goal for next fall is to play in NA.
3. He needs to add strenght, if he works out like Granlund did last summer, he can be ready already next fall.

1. I don't think there is room for Teravainen in at the WC. There are better options.
2. Hardly.
3. I think he needs a lot more strength and speed to be effective at the highest level. Even in the WJC final he looked weak and timid in a couple of contacts. So, no he won't be ready any time soon by the look of it.
