Lekkerimäki is neither of that.
Yeah not even close. This guys offensive awareness and pure raw skill is off the charts. He has the highest offensive IQ of any player in the draft. You cant give him a bad pass. His ability to get open and away from checks while still dominating a game reminds me of 86 on Tampa. (not saying he will be Kucherov but they have a similar style of play). He sneakily tracks pucks and steals them too. He also controls the power play and demands the puck but only in the right scenario. His skating is more of a strength than a weakness as he gets stronger he is only going to get better. If he falls out of the top 10 it would be mind blowing and likely could cost a few people their jobs. I think if he gets picked outside of the top 5 whoever gets him probably wins the draft.

I think him and Kemell are getting underrated at this point. Especially Lekkerimaki though.

Hard to say. I have Lekkerimäki at 8, but I've said of this draft before that I want to put 8 or 9 players in my top 5. Everyone ahead, and a few behind have loads of upside, so time will tell.

I sincerely think Lekkerimaki is a better prospect than Kemmell at this point. Lekkerimaki may be less dynamic of a goalscorer than Kemmell, but I like his puck-distributing skills quite a bit more, and his offensive IQ is maybe a bit better as well to me.

And with a shot like Lekkerimaki's, combined with his excellent puckhandling skills, ability to be a strong secondary playmaker on a line, a dual threat per se, and his overall strong skating, then you get a really high-end package of offensive skills despite what people say about the relative strength of this draft.

That said, I agree with you. Lek and Kemmell are both being a bit undervalued by fans with the rise of Gauthier and others in the eyes of scouts. Savoie is also affected, although in a lesser way than those two. The two top russian prospects are also slept on quite a bit too, but we will dodge that whole debate and avoid getting political.

Back on subject now, I personally think that although both Lek and Kemmell have some bust potential to them, in the sense that they are not especially big, strong physically, or much more than average defensively, they also have really high ceilings as players if they develop well and could be top-6 players+ each in their own way.

To add to that, I'd simply say that I am quite happy to hear that my team's GM has been working the phones trying to trade up and get another pick to potentially select Lekkerimaki.

My expectations are no longer reasonable

Did not think we had a chance to get this kid - I thought he was a done deal to the Senators with 0 chance of sliding past the Sharks. I’m honestly still stunned - good things never happen to the Canucks.

Steal of the draft, I have been saying for over a year he is who i want and congrats to the Canucks for taking him at 15. Clearly the steal of the draft. Reminds me of Elias Pettersson but with Ovechkins shot :yo:
