I see it was posted by @Minnewildsota. Was the link to Barzal a video from Dreger?

I think the main issue is that we might've seen the best of Kaprizov already. His lack of durability during his peak years is concerning. If he loses speed/legs due to injury then he will not be nearly as effective, and he seems to be heading down that path. Durability is a feature of great players - so far, he doesn't seem to have it.I think assuming we retain Kaprizov we’re well positioned to be competetive I’ve the next 5+ years, but I don’t believe we can truly compete for a cup until we add a true number 1 center to the mix.
I saw it on FB (Yeah, I know) but I checked the page that posted it and seemed to broadcast legit stories.I see that it says Dreger said it, but I don’t see where Dreger said it?

I do agree that an elite'ish #1C would be great. I would consider a Rossi + deal for Barzal, but would be excited about it. Rossi has impressed me with his ability to get on the scoresheet and overcome his lack of size and speed.
I have no idea where "$36 million" center is coming from. He's signed to 6 more years after this at $9.15M per year.I saw it on FB (Yeah, I know) but I checked the page that posted it and seemed to broadcast legit stories.

Sounds Dutch. Not only is it a Facebook source, he's also named "View all"
We are paying JEE 5.25M/year, which is a bargain for what he brings to the team. If we pay Kap 8x15M/year, as some on here are suggesting, that contract will haunt us for years to come.Ek is another big concern. In three years this entire roster may turn over with Boldy and Faber the only core pieces which is a massive concern.

Nelson's contract was $36 million.
That doesn't scare me too much (depending on what his current injury is, I guess). He’s also about to be 28
I would have to know what a potential return in a trade for Kaprizov would look like to say forsure, but as hard as it would be, my preference is to trade Kaprizov to someone out east with an extension for a haul and use the 15M+ elsewhere rather than give him a deal that starts when he’s 30 to be the highest paid player in the world as a recently oft-injured, 5’9 Winger. I don’t think Guerin has the stones to do it, but that’s what I would do.I think the main issue is that we might've seen the best of Kaprizov already. It's certainly a reasonable option.I would have to know what a potential return in a trade for Kaprizov would look like to say forsure, but as hard as it would be, my preference is to trade Kaprizov to someone out east with an extension for a haul and use the 15M+ elsewhere rather than give him a deal that starts when he’s 30 to be the highest paid player in the world as a recently oft-injured, 5’9 Winger. I think his past performance is worthy of being paid like one of the best players in world, I just don’t know from a team management perspective that bending over backwards for an undersized winger who hasn’t played a full season in a bit and is also going to be 30 when the deal starts is smart. At the end of the day every team has the same amount of cap space to spend (in theory), and the common denominator of great teams is an effective cap sheet. It's certainly a reasonable option.
If we can sign him for Rantanen's 12M I'd keep him, as I love to watch him play, and he does elevate the lineup when he's in and healthy. I can't justify paying him more than that, though.
Also, it's not like we "owe" him for his ELC years. He went out of his way not to play here early on, and manipulated the term on his present contract so that he would max out on his payday. Nothing wrong with that, but we it's not like some players who come in and give 3 great ELC years for next to nothing.I think his past performance is worthy of being paid like one of the best players in world, I just don’t know from a team management perspective that bending over backwards for an undersized winger who hasn’t played a full season in a bit and is also going to be 30 when the deal starts is smart. 14M yes, but you’re not getting him for 14M in my estimation. We’re talking about the guy who turned less than a ppg season of like 45 games into 9M with absolutely no leverage.I'd be pretty underwhelmed by a Stankoven + 2 late 1sts type of deal.
If it's not something like Jarvis + Nikishin, just give him the $14M and go down with that ship if it happens. You're still betting on immense talent, which is justifiable.
