Prospect Info: (F) Frank Nazar - 2022 NHL Draft, 13th Overall

I mean… you have to be gone as a coach when shit like this goes public. Pearson also isn’t under contract for the Wolverines next season. There’s no way he’s getting a contract now.

London acquired his OHL rights in 2020

Cool. London - not a bad fallback plan.

As a rule I think the CHL is a better development plan than college, but it probably depends on the makeup (personality, maturity, etc.) of the player as much as any other factor. Just the fact there are twice as many games in the CHL than college and no school responsibilities vying for time lends it itself to a more intensely packed hockey focus.

Hmmmm IIRC DeBrincat was cut from the junior team as well.

We all know how that turned out.
Cat had made the team the year before. He got cut the year after because he got booted from that previous tournament for spearing someone. Not really to do with talent.

Cat didn't have a great camp that 2nd year. Reports were almost like he was taking it for granted as a returning player and wasn't showing enough effort in a deep forward group.

They cut him. I am sure his suspension last year weighed in some but USA Hockey made a statement with him and thankfully they did because it lit a fire under his ass like no other.

Cat belonged on that team and I wasn't a fan of him being cut but in the end it made him a better player just like it will Nazar though far different reasons why he was cut compared to Cat.

Anyone know if Nazar is injured? He didn't play in Michigan's exhibition game last weekend and he wasn't in the lineup for their season opener tonight either?

Cam Robinson at EliteProspects has confirmed he is injured.

Didn't specify the injury, or how long he'll be out.

Thanks for the info. I suppose that's better than he wasn't good enough to make the lineup - so long as it's nothing serious or long term.
Haha he'll definitely be in the lineup. I don't think Nick Granowicz is keeping him out.

On Laz &Powers latest podcast ,it was mentioned that Nazar's injury will keep him form the Michigan lineup for SEVERAL MONTHS!

So That could be 2-4months ...probably not till 2023 whetger that is January or February ,who onows?
This is bad news and a rough start to Nazar's NCAA years...Probably means he willbe at keadtc3 years in college not one or two only.

Lousy news - if true. Looking for a silver lining the "several months" prognosis most likely eliminates concussion since those are not predictable ... but it could still be something like knee or back which could derail his career to some degree. Hopefully it's a broken bone that heals properly and then is as good as new. The lost time still sucks though.

Who onows? Apparently typing and counting comes difficult for you as "potentially a couple of months" becomes 5(February) months.

Here’s what Powers said in the most recent episode of the “Laz & Powers” podcast:

I’ve heard that he’s actually going to miss potentially a couple of months with an injury, so it’s not the start [the Blackhawks] want to his career. It doesn't sound like it’s a season-ending injury but it’s something that delayed him a little bit.

Apparently Fiddy's listening skills are on par with his typing skills.

Also, why in the hell is anyone still bothering to read his alphabet scramble?
