I hope it's not true. The last word from the Canes (Francis) about two weeks ago was that they're leaning towards letting him play one more year in Brno.

agree it is different. playing for their respective team, therefore the AHL instead of the OHL is the same way...

Insane game by Chytil today and finishes it with an OT goal. Kid has very high upside and everything you want in a player; good speed, hands, creativity, size, IQ, and playmaking ability. Was happy with the pick then and even happier now. Yes I get it's a preseason game but this kid was unbelievable tonight

I think he's a better hockey player right now than Andersson. If you could combine Andersson's readiness from a mental standpoint and Chytil's from an ability standpoint, I think you'd get a guy who starts in the NHL.

He's also almost a full year younger, he just turned 18 a few weeks ago

That player would be a top 5 pick. But I get where you're coming from. Chytil looked convincing tonight. If he does that in all of his preseason showings it's gonna be hard not to expect him to get 9 games.

But really... very impressive entrance for the kid. If he shows this consistently over 3 preseason games, it will be tough to keep him off the roster on a team with thin offensive depth. He was great in front of the net, can skate with Kreider and Zucc, and moves the puck effortlessly. I'm excited to see what he can bring in 2+ more games.

Rangers got really good value out of their two 1st rounders this past summer.

Andersson is a safe pick and Chytil has big upside.

Not surprised at all that he is performing. As I said earlier, he is going to be a steal. Elite skating, good vision, great shot, silky smooth hands and on top of that nice frame. I wonder where he would have gone if he played in the CHL? Glass certainly wasn't 15 spots higher value than him based on the u18.

Chytil is in the final 24 for NYR and is centering the second line with Nash & Zuccarello in practice. I think it's likely he has made the Rangers' opening night lineup.

Will be real interesting to see how it goes if he performs well through 9 games...they can always send him back later if he starts struggling but it's a tough line to walk with trying to bring a long a guy who just turned 18 and now has to learn how to deal with the grind of the NHL season

I didn't get a chance to watch Chytil in the Czech league last year, but I felt comfortable putting him in my top 30 just based on his performance at the U18s.

Was so impressive there. Big body with good skating and slick hands. Made the right decision with the puck almost every time. Thought he was more impressive than Necas.

Great work by the Rangers identifying him as a high end talent.

Necas is an excellent player. His only lack is power.

Really happy to hear he's doing well in camp. So many people, including scouts, were sleeping on this kid. Many guys didn't even have him in the 1st round...

He impressed me in the 2 games against the Flyers. Puck seemed to follow him around. Also took a really big open ice hit from Gudas....and did not shy away from the play the rest of the game.

He is so young and talented. Great pick.
