Pretty similar to how Boldy and Caufield compared halfway through their freshman seasons
It’s his sophomore season though…

Fact: Stramel hasnt been a PPG player in any level since 2019 in AAA and AA. I seriously don’t know what people see in him? Outside of height supremacists….

Worst 1st round pick in their D+1 since when?
Is he having the worst D+1 of 2023 draftees? Sale has 20 points in 25 WHL games. Not being 1PPG in juniors is worse than a player on an old college team that doesn’t get the most TOI or best situations.

And it’s pathetic someone bumped this thread. I can’t see why they did so, which suggests it’s nothing worth reading, but it tells me whoever did so is concerned with winning HF arguments and is rooting against this player to be petty to strangers on the internet.

What threads are bumped to update a player has went two games scoreless? He actually moved up the lineup because the coach said he’s been playing well, but I’m sure this person had no clue.

Weren't you making a huge deal about how great he was after scoring 4 points in 2 games like a single page ago? Now 0 points in 2 more games isn't any reason to talk about him because it's not a large enough sample size?

You couldn't be more transparent.

that doesn’t get the most TOI or best situations.

Because he isn't good when he gets them.

Let's not pretend that you don't have ulterior motives either.

Sale plays in the O... Also, it's junior, singular.

Not to nit pick but it can definitely be plural. Its known as “juniors” to everyone in the hockey world, short for “junior hockey”

But back to Stramel, although he is struggling, he was ranked by outlets right around where he was drafted. All it takes is one team to like a kid

He was drafted later than 21st by almost all scouting outlets. I get that he is bigger, but he looks sluggish to me, is an early Bday, and nothing positive sticks out about his offensive game. He'd be a guy that you take a chance on later on in the second because of his size, IMO. I would far rather have had Guerin take Edstrom, Stenberg, Ritchie, or Brindley, among others, but at this point you just have to hope, as a Wild fan, that he is merely in an ugly duckling phase, and that he breaks out sometime.

Nope, it's known as "junior" to everyone who uses the term correctly. For the level of hockey, junior hockey. It's known as "college" or "university" because that's the level of education. No one would call it "colleges" or "universities" simply because there are multiple of them.

Stramel is a forechecker with little offensive creativity. If he can play football style hockey in the playoffs and help the Wild or some other team win, then the pick will look better. But he has to make the NHL in order to get to that point. Will be interesting if he can make it to Clutterbuck/Cizikas level of play.

 seriously? Nobody gives a shit whether it's called "junior", or "juniors". I played junior, and I sure as hell don't care. It's not like it's a league filled with future English majors.

From someone who played juniors, it is definitely referred to as that. There will be zero people that agree with you

If that ain’t the pot calling the kettle black after a “monstrous” 4 pt weekend, then I don’t know what is.

And you attempt to hide that you are rooting against your team’s player.

No, it’s not especially newsworthy and normal that threads are bumped when a player goes scoreless for a few games. It does happen occasionally, but it’s done by those rooting against a player.

It probably wouldn't happen it you weren't so insufferable every time he scores a point.

I don't really think that @AKL gives a shit. Like most of us, he is capable of having differing opinions on prospects and players from the team he roots for.

nobody's rooting against the player, they're rooting against the pick made by a drunk GM in a deep draft.

Can’t stand Guerin so I’m going to take this as a fact 😂

Also why do I see straw-man on HFBoards every day but never anywhere else? I think that hand has been overplayed here.
