Two weeks into each players first D+1 season is clearly enough time to make judgement about players.
Players like Zacha and Virtanen scored in their first few games too.
This has to be consistently applied though. Can't say Tkachuk we need to suspend judgment but after 5 games we know Yamamoto to be a raging success.

Lol I knew someone would be bashing Zadina here. Calling him a dud before he even turns 19, classic!

About Tkachuk, he looks good. I don't know why anyone is surprised here though, he has looked good all along. I hate how now I am "forced" to dislike Tkachuk/Kotkaniemi because other fanbases keep saying "Zadina who". Can we give these guys 5 years to hit their strides and just enjoy the hockey? I guess not....

And saying the Sens made a mistake by not taking Zadina at the draft is also extremely premature.

Why did your fan base try and force Zadinas greatness onto ours then ? Thats mostly where the hate comes from.

You mean a few posters on HF boards? Do you always make mass generalizations based on a couple of people?

His brother had the same hate, and everyone changed their tune very quickly.

Matthew won in a poll of player most likely to bust pretty overwhelmingly too.

A lot of talent evaluators gloss over the types of skills that make for a successful NHL players. Both Tkachuks do a lot of the little things that buy themselves time and space to make things happen. They also have intangibles (such as compete level) that make them very hard to play against.

Most talent evaluators had Tkachuk high for most of the season

Ya it was bad. I found it absolutely amazing as I thought it was pretty clear that Matthew Tkachuck was the least likely to bust outside of Austin Matthews. Just goes to show how many stat watchers and situation analyst there are on these forums vs people who actually watch the players and know anything about what they are looking at.

Had Puljujarvi furthest from NHL ready and most likely to bust in the top 5. Although I do not factor D as they are much more difficult requiring more time and skill to properly evaluate,

The Sens have two of the most promising young players right now. Chabot and Tkachuk. The former is ridiculously good.

Its amazing how fast things can change.

And yes both of these kids are looking like potential super stars right now. Small sample size, I know.

Small maybe but Chabot right now is a can't miss. I would trade multiple top prospects from my team to get him

Yeah I'm with ya on that. Hes played incredibly admirably considering the whole situation.

Brady is not likely going to be PPG player, but hes fairly cant miss as well with his aggressive style of play in front of the net. It's a thing of beauty, and hes already been involved in a handful more goals that he didnt pick up points on.
