Hahaha

Both of you I guess.

Lafreniere - McDavid - Draisaitl is going to be one stacked line.

Too bad the rest of the team can't play hockey, but that is going to be one spectacular line.
I'm willing to bet Edmonton doesn't get Laf. They've had the 1st overall pick 40% of the time this decade.

Vancouver fans also hoped it would be destiny to host the draft and grab the 2nd brother tandem by finally winning the lottery - sadly reality doesn't give a shit about storylines!

Everyone knows he will be a Senator.

Sure thing. Until the pick is traded to the Avs for Tyson Barrie. What happens next is that the Avs will draft 4th overall and Edmonton will select Lafreniere after winning the lottery. Deal with it.

Destiny isnt a real thing boss. The Leafs picked Matthew's in Buffalo. Your going to be a middling team and end up with a pick in the teens to early 20s. Why even bother getting your hopes up lol.

We still don't forgive you for it. Matthews would've been everything the Arizona market needed and more.

I know it’s the summer and I don’t hold this practice tourney against him at all. With that said, for someone who is projected as an upper echelont first overall pick, AL didn’t look that special in any games. A lot of ppl have been saying they’d take AL over Hughes, I just don’t see it at all. Let’s see how he does this upcoming year

Lafrenière had the highest pts total in the QMJHL for a D-1 prospects since Crosby. Also contrary to a guy like Ehlers who was playing with Drouin, Lafrenière was playing with ''studs'' like overager Huntington who had 18 goals the year before and had 40 playing with Lafrenière. The team forward stats board then take a meteoric drop to 64 pts by a 2018 7th round pick. Lafrenière has the size advantage over Hughes and it will show in the long run.

"D-1"-comparisons are always wonky in this case because Lafreniere is a late birthday and almost a year older than Crosby was. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens, u-20s usually show quite a bit.

I think this draft is wide open at the top. It’s like one of those swimming 50m races with no clear favorite where prior rankings don’t matter and about six have a chance to win. Whoever starts well and ends great will be first. Someone likely will.

I would say that Lafreniere, Byfield, Raymond, Lundell, Drysdale and a wild card (my picks for that would be Foudy and Poirier) are your 1OA candidates going into the season.

He's not as flashy as Hughes because of his skating, but his hands and vision are top notch, and he's strong as an ox.

Fair enough but at a 17 YO his numbers were essentially the same as PLD. Dubois is one hell of a player but he’s was never considered as a first overall quality player. I like AL a lot but as of now I think if he does for first overal imo he’s a lower end first overall in the mold of RNH

2020 draft is being talked about as one of the deepest drafts since 2003. So Lafreniere being the unanimous 1st overall in a class like that means he’s seen as a special player. Obviously that doesn’t necessarily mean he lives up to that.. but that goes for every prospect even 1st overalls.
