Torts is outcoaching the Finnish coach lol, not all that impressed by them in their Swedish games either. They just produce good spurts here and there.

Jet lag is real

Yeah there's that. Just can't get the legs going.

But it's also a fact we have the 2nd worst defense in the whole tournament, only the Czechs have worse.

Half of our guys are either top pairing AHL guys or upcoming 3rd pairing guys in the NHL. Not easy to go up against the best in the world, especially when our leading d-men have not been great so far. A lot of pressure on those young guys to lead by example, when they necessarily don't even have the experience of leading the way.

Laine is good and with some time to get used to smaller ice and the NHL he will be a really dangerous player.

Too bad that not more of the rookie class of 2016 is here, this tournament is gonna be really helpful for Matthews and Laine's seasons eh? They probably won't need 5 or 10 NHL games or whatever to find their groove at the beginning.

Our D and their passing ability / decision making looks rubbish right now. In both ends. Only seen the 2nd period though, but makes you angry to watch. Not nice.

Nice rush by Laine, but couldnt finish. He's one of the few rays of light from this Finland side so far this game .

Jetlag usually leads to defensive blunders

A practice game in partial jet lag. I would concentrate on the positives which really have been there. If we can eliminate the most glaring mistakes, we'll be much, much stronger in the actual games.

Hope so. At least Vatanen needs to wake up before the real games start.

Vatanen hasn't been that bad. Still not great but there are bigger problems. I think that he's improved.

Or maybe he's that bad but Jokipakka and perhaps Määttä catch my eye more.
