Considering the fact Sweden death rate hasn’t gone up that much, and homicide and other crime-related deaths have both increased a lot since 2018, there is no possible way that Corona has killed 5x the amount of Swedes than seasonal flue. It’s just mathematically not possible.

The problem with your opinion is it now has the benefit of the current strain being less deadly. The problem with your opinion is that even if you don’t personally believe it, or maybe you do, a lot of people held that thought when the dominant strain was killing a lot of people. Like a lot of people, and people who shouldn’t have died. Not just old people, or sick people. 55 year old stay at home moms on no meds people.

So while your opinion now might be fine, it’s insensitive and shortsighted, as we have no idea if the long term outlook is that this turns into a common cold or something worse. We also have data that shows vaccinating people when we did has saved a lot of hospitalizations and lives when it comes to Omicron.

My source is I’m an ER doctor who has been working in the ER the entirety of the pandemic. It’s not a good situation for a lot of hospitals in the country now, back then, and probably in the future.

I know you probably don’t want more doom and gloom and you’d rather this COVID stuff just go away and stop dominating your life. We want that too
