Because the thing he got suspended for is applicable to all teams regardless of location.

Yes, but some places are more lenient towards anti-vax through policies than others. He's obviously anti-vax if he went through those measures, do you disagree?

The most lenient:

USA: Florida
Canada: Alberta

Where does he want to go?

He literally got suspended 20+ games for faking a vaccination card. Why would he not place anti-vaccine mandates to his decision?

If that’s the case, there are multiple US teams he could consider. You may not be aware, but Alberta is also in a lockdown. Anyways I remember who you are so I’m not going to bother beyond this post. Have fun

He is now vaccined 100% sire.

That flying to vancouver was a small mistake, but edmonton will soon announce they'll signed him. Wich is good for all parties involved.

What makes you think that NHL or AHL COVID-19 protocols would be more or less lenient based on location? It's a league policy. Not a team policy.

I'm talking about when you leave the house when you're not playing.

Alberta has been the most lenient province when it came to mask wearing, vaccine cards, etc. Their premier literally got in trouble because he removed all restrictions while the rest of Canada was in lockdown and then the hospitals got overrun with Covid patients and he said we messed up.

Florida is notoriously anti-lockdown/vaccine mandates. If he were to go somewhere, Florida seems the better choice in every aspect as the weather is nicer, the team is better, the covid-policies are more lenient, fans are allowed in the building, etc.

As a Leafs fan, I hope he goes to Edmonton because both Florida teams are fighting the Leafs for the division.

My prediction was Florida, who wouldn't want to play there right now? Arguably the best 2 teams , fantastic weather and away from the Canadian media.
He may end up in oil Town though flanking mcdavid.

Ya, no kidding.......I think the oilers told Evander, there's nothing to do in Edmonton, so everyone just goes to the casino, as we have one that allows smoking, right at the tables.....it's what we do here ! Lol

Think he will buy it? We're desperate for a playoff run, and we will gamble ! For this player....

I don't think that is as much of a factor as you think it is. If it were, his options would expand beyond those three teams. I tend to think that Kane's actions were more out of arrogance and not giving a shit more than caring about what the actual rules are. COVID is likely just an excuse to get what he wants out of his situation more than some principled belief against public health measures.

You mean the fact he submitted a fake vaccination card to the NHL? He's obviously very anti-vax. Also, this may surprise you, but not every team wants E. Kane in the locker room, even for cheap. His options are definitely more limited than you may think. He has a reputation of being a selfish and toxic player, not exactly the culture you want to build around.

It’s not so good if you were or could be a legal party to a wage garnishment arrangement on his San Jose salary. So to rephrase, it’s good for all parties except the victims, lol.

If he was as anti-vax as you seem to think, he wouldn't be vaccinated so I can't buy that argument. Just because other teams wouldn't want him doesn't mean that he wouldn't say he's interested in going to any sort of team. I mean, it was reported of his interest in Tampa and Tampa backed out of it for now. So I don't see that teams' lack of interest in him prevents him from saying he'd like to go to any team.

I don't bet a one penny for deal with E. Kane either Edm or Florida. Oilers case is closed.

If Edmonton wants any hope and prayer of not only making the playoffs, but not becoming a door mat for the team they play against in the first round, they need a coach more than Kane. They’re going about this the absolute wrong way

So they canada / nhl etc changed the rules at some point again when kane travelled to vancoouver.... that's an honest mistake and these happen to a lot of human beings in these times. Lets see where he signs. Interesting. Maybe edmonton still.

How do you know?

The man literally got suspended 20+ games for faking a vaccination card but anti-vaccine mandates have nothing to do with his decision? None whatsoever?

Because if he was worried about Covid protocols he would be looking at literally any American city over Edmonton, Edmonton still has tighter protocols and is taking Covid more seriously than most places in the US. Alberta is conservative no doubt but it's still Canada, our conservatives here are further left than democrats in the US.

I heard on the radio now the league has put a stop to it and is not gonna do an investigation or something. Only caught bits and pieces but seems weird that they would let teams negotiate with him just to put everything on hold. Luke isn't this soemthing they should of done prior?

It’s kind of amazing he hasn’t demanded a trade yet.

This isn’t really an Eichel situation. That poor guy has never even sniffed an NHL playoff game. McDavid is signed another 5 years and I’m sure will do his part to try and win a cup in Edmonton. If he is unsuccessful, and the Oilers don’t do their part, then he will leave and most Oiler fans will continue to respect him and appreciate all that he accomplished as an Oiler, with or without a cup.
