I personally don't want him on the Oilers or the NHL for that matter, but if the dude want to focus on hockey and have less distractions. Edmonton is the best option.

The Lightning and the Panthers are both great teams and great choices for Kane. Championship calibre teams. Edmonton would be a great fit for him if he wanted to rack up points playing on either McDavid's or Draisaitl's wing.

I forgot a little addition - Jakob Chychrun. ;)
I'm just curious.
Will Florida go all-in this season?

2022/23:
Barkov- $10,000,000 (2021/22 - $5,900,000);
Verhaeghe- $4,166,667 (2021/22 - $1,000,000).
We are but Lundell is a big part of it. He’s why we can keep Barkv’s minutes manageable by deploying him in defensive situations—his offensive zone start percentage is like 40 percent. T

we want JC but we can’t afford to lose Lundell especially with Bennett’s propensity to get suspended. Unfortunate there’s not a great trade option with Arizona

Because he never did anything as demonstrably shitty as has happened in San Jose.

Seriously, you don't get your contract terminated like this because you were late to a couple meetings and you're just a jerk. Seriously, I get "talent over character"... but character has to f***ing matter at some point. He's a 50 point wing. Like, he's undoubtedly a good hockey player... but he's nowhere near great enough to outweigh the mack truck carrying his baggage. I literally wouldn't want him on the Wings for free. I wouldn't want to sign him on the Wings if we were gifted a free second round pick to do it. I don't think this guy should be in the NHL anymore. Second, third, fourth chances? Cool. At some point, you just gotta see that a piece of crap is a piece of crap regardless of whether he's talented or not.
It would be different if he seemed to be getting better but he seems to be getting worse. You'd think after all his gambling issues and claiming bankruptcy he would do what he could to continue playing and get his life back on track but instead he goes on to forge his covid documents, being suspended for 21 games and forfeiting 1/4 of a season of salary.

Florida is the curious team for me here. Mostly because of Jumbo Joe. You would think that Panther's brass would have talked to Joe about Kane before throwing their hat in the ring.
The Florida Tampa rivalry is so good, tossing in Evander Kane to that rivalry would be amazing.

Wants to win and get a boosted contract for being part of a winning team? Lightning and Panthers.
Wants to try and get a big contract and convince teams that it wasn't just the McDavid effect? Edmonton is a good choice.
Edmonton will probably squeek ahead with the attached casino.

That + a healthy Ekblad and improved Weegar would make FLA a really, really tough out for us. I'd expect them to have an edge in scoring depth and us to have an edge in net (although Knight played quite well against us IIRC).

He got his contract terminated because it was financially beneficial for the Sharks to do so. If those incidents happened to Ryan Merkley, we wouldn't be having the same conversation.

You can bet your bottom dollar that San Jose Sharks has and will continue to look for any excuse to get out of the contract. They probably got PI's on Kane when hes in public.

What? If he goes to EDM, it will be to get points for himself and that will be because of McDrai.

If he could put his ego aside and just wanted a desire for a Chip, he would go to TB or FLA and play a lesser role.

They probably did talk to Joe and he probably said good things about him. Evander Kane may be an idiot, but a guy like Joe Thornton probably kept him in check in the past and knows how to deal with him and probably told the Panthers GM that he'll be fine. I can't find anything about Joe Thornton as it relates to Kane that isn't neutral or positive.

Pros for EDM

-Guaranteed top 6 role. If chemistry is there McDavid could help get him points which he needs to get a good next contract.

- Way closer to home than FLA (Vancouver)

- Extra Media attention by playing in Canada could make him stand out more when auditioning for new contract (assuming he thinks he can stay out of trouble for a few months)

Pros to FLA

- Less/No COVID restrictions in society

-Less media attention on his "antics" if he feels he may slip up

- Less taxes/better quality of life for "elite" minded people

- Chance for Championship pedigree if they win the Cup (put simply they are a better team)

Foes he get on the first power play unit though?

That is where a player gets some goals.

Foes Kane take Hymans spot?

Can Kane sneak in on a Tampa PP?

Goal totals matter.

I'm a little upset. I really enjoyed the 2021 Florida-Tampa Stanley Cup matches.
I would love to watch the 2022 Florida-Tampa Stanley Cup matches.
With new Florida players: Kane, Chychrun, Kessel, Crouse.

"Happened to"? None of these incidents "happened to" Kane, either

Hes like a kid after getting in trouble... he behaves well for like a week and then slowly goes back to being an idiot.

Whatever team signs him needs to set him up basically with a big brother that keeps an eye on him and keeps him in line.

Hes been doing this type of garbage back when he was 16 years old playing in Vancouver WHL. I knew someone quite well within the Giants organization at that time and it was well known how much of a knob the guy was back then too.. its astounding 14ish years later he's still a total handful

Now having said that, if this was the final straw for him to realize he needs to smarten up, some team will have to huuuuge steal
