Katz needs to intervene if he wants to save the credibility of his team

What credibility do the Oilers have left ? Years of wandering in he dark gifted McDavid and Draisaitl develop beyond anything you could of expected and they continue to flash their prime years down the toilet bowl . Trade them already if they aren't going to compete .

I think I listed 5 or more guys that came here on a last chance type contract via PTO, trade or signing that all stayed here for much longer (and worse) contracts.
You think Holland will dish out a 6 or 7 M contract to Evander Kane? No chance.

Probably mentioned aleady but it is a little funny how opinions on him are softening up a little bit at the moment in certain markets lol

The familiar pattern:

Phase 1: Say no to player acquisition ideas that involve any real risk
Phase 2: Begin to justify the concept when linked via speculation and/or rumor
Phase 3 (coming soon): Go all in on the idea if the player is acquired or if the player isn't acquired, go the bullet dodged route, highlighting all the negatives

If he goes to Edmonton it is short term . Before his contract was terminated his waiver list did not include Edmonton . Maybe his agent is telling him there less temptation there and it will help increase his value down the road if he stays out of trouble .

Kane probably plays like he has something to prove for whoever signs him. So they sign him to a multi year contract, and he immediately reverts back to doing evander Kane things next season.

Edited for stupidity

This guy continues to get chance after chance. Sam Jose was the only franchise to hold this guy accountable and send the message that his antics won’t be tolerated. This should have been a messaged received by the rest of the league to stay clear but GMs are just demonstrating that if you score enough, your dumb antics and destructive behaviour can be tolerated.

He can live in the highrise condos, connected to the Rogers Place, and there is a Casino and several bars also connected!! He doesn't have to go outside!!

It would be nice if GM's could just worry about hockey instead of having to worry about politics and punishment when we already have both of those covered with their fields of expertise.
I agree, the NHL should have expelled him, but they seem to believe that they can't.

If kane signed with the Oilers, we could then redirect assets and cap space to the goal position. It would be like getting a 6-7million dollar winger for a fraction of the price. Kane + an upgrade in goal and Oilers are a playoff contender. Defence still needs work and has obvious question marks, but at the very least we can fix a top line winger addition 3 C and a goalie in two moves. A signing and then a trade. We go from 4 holes to 1 obvious hole.

it’s an ugly solution, but that’s how I see it.

now in some fairy tale world we trade for Ullmark (Tuuka just signed), Holloway is healthy and ready… and Kelfbom comes back

If Evander Kane shows up to Edmonton in a tracksuit, who says anything?

McDavid? Drai?

Seems like a toxic locker room that will be be lead by E. Kane.

From Kane's perspective, EDM makes sense if he wants to score points and parlay that into his next contract. FLA and TB makes sense if wants to win a Cup. The great depth of those teams likely means less points.

Cold reality is he needs money more than a Stanley Cup

Do you know how much a pawn shop will give you for a Cup ring these days, though?

I bet he snatches the C away from McDavid at first practice as well.. beats Nurse in a fight and gets the throne in the lockerroom

Tampa, Florida and Edmonton huh?

One of these things is not like the other. Seems he is going to the sunshine state, probably using Edmonton's desperation as leverage.
