it is a little lame for maupay to be chatting shit about maddison getting cut from the england squad given that you'd have to have a Simpsons softball episode-esque cascading of misfortunes for maupay to even come within a stones throw of being contemplated for a squad for the euros. distasteful it most definitely is not, but i do find it pretty stupid

at least when jamie vardy shithouses he has quality to back it up with

I mean on the other hand Maupay’s feelings are getting hurt by missing the French squad because he knows he isn’t getting near it. Got to hurt a lot worse to know you were one of the last cuts. Maupay also clearly legit does not like Maddison so he is going to throw some daggers (or some darts); he knows what his role is
 
Tasteful or not, it was funny. Gotta give him credit for that at least.

Southgate logic... Branthwaite had an incredible season and has a rapport with the starting GK. Seems that would be the ideal profile for a bench player. But we're talking about the guy who has made countless stupid decisions.

He did the same thing by alienating Ben White, who could provide cover at multiple positions and has chemistry with Saka.
 
I expected Maddison to get cut. There's a lot of competition for his position, and he didn't look the same since coming back from injury.

Kind of sad how Spurs have gone from very represented in the national team, to nobody.

There's very little creativity in this England squad without Maddison, especially if Trent doesn't start either. Might hurt them against teams playing a low block.

so true, none of foden or saka or palmer or kane have any track record of being very good at penetrating teams playing in a low block

famously, all four of them play for teams that absorb sustained pressure and score on the counter, they have no idea how to deal with a defense that's dug its feet in

says he while the creative wizards he mentioned could only score against Bosnia's subs. And yeah, Kane is creative, but when your most creative player is your number 9, you;re in trouble.

i just don't know how anyone could claim that there's insufficient creativity in england's attacking midfield

and god, pointing out grammatical errors is such low hanging fruit, but using the wrong "your" while calling me dumb is insanely f***ing funny
