And yet, he still gets Senators players on his show. I don't think he is on any blackball list as TSN1200 gets a lot of players on the show

Would be tough to outright blacklist a TSN guy, particularly over something so petty. It's a symbiotic relationship, and there may be some contractual requirements based on the broadcast rights deals in place.

On the other hand, when is the last time either Dorion or Melnyk did an interview with Mendes? Did either of them do interviews with Mendes with any degree of regularity prior?

The owner and GM have stated that they won't do his show. Not sure why anyone would argue my point. It's well documented and accepted. Mendes spoke out about the team and the owner vilified him. Mendes even tried to help them fix their PR and mend the trust issues but the GM and owner scoffed. It just is the way it played out.

The only one we had, believe it or not, was Don Brennan, who still provides some light jabs on Twitter, but he seems to have been completely erased as a Sun Sports columnist.
You make that sound like a bad thing

I don’t remember Mendes working on the FAN590 in Toronto.

Do you have anything from or about Dorion refusing to talk to Mendes ? I have seen the Melnyk comments, but never the GM.

I don’t even expect criticism. Just report on what is going on, next steps, things like that.
The thing is the lawsuit being launched was fully reported. Other than people who hate Melnyk with a passion there is no market to consume the legal minutia. Literally almost nobody cares past the initial “Casino sues Melnyk”. It’s not a conspiracy is how people consume information now, headline only, moving on ....

Quite specifically where I said it was a conspiracy. Thanks.

Honest question because I can't find it, but when was the last time Dorion appeared on TSN1200?

The last clips I can find are from August, but I think he may have been on last month.

The lack of coverage in the local media is also a sad reflection of the power Melnyk seems to yield over a good chunk of them.

I am sure James Bagnall is in the process of writing a Mohegan Sun hit piece as we speak.

No one cares dude, and certainly no one cares about following along with pointless legalese.

I’m sure you’ll get some coverage when it’s settled.

Were’nt you committing yourself to moving on from these kinds of things?

Not really factual unless you get Ian on here backing you up on that...

Pretty sure Ian (or any reporter) wouldn't come out and put that officially in print, even on a site like this. Legally and professionally it wouldn't be wise, and just leads to more mud slinging.

As others have posted, Melynk did call him out last year. We can pretty much connect the dots from there.

There are almost 2 full pages discussing the media coverage of the team, but ok, sure, no one cares.

It’s one guy translating, you complaining about coverage, and handful of of low hanging fruit jokes, and me and a few others rolling our eyes. Besides the half dozen of us even bothering in here, no one cares.

I’m sure there will be a spike of interest when an outcome is announced.

Mainstream media doesn’t care. If you want to complain that Sens bloggers aren’t following up have at it.

This stuff is very tabloid-y, and I could see it selling lots of papers. We've seen much less meaningful lawsuits and scandals making it to the cover of the Sun. It's the very definition of flamebait/trolling/buzzworthy stuff. We can see it in this very thread how it gets a rise of people on either side. Strange indeed that this story isn't covered much.

Legal experts, what’s the scoop?

Looks like this Mohegan Sun case and the air lease case are all settled. I figure the strategy of having the other party wasting money on lawyer fees worked for a settlement

Anyone, in the know want to weigh in?

where is @Tighthead ?

Not that you'd have any reason to make this up, but do you have a source? My usual Google-fu isn't turning anything up.

The last article was submitted on December 23rd by the plaintiffs stating they have the right to use tribal law and Connecticut law.
I dont see anything about the suit being settled or anything else.

Better yet, what are you not telling us?

I am getting one hell of a strange vibe from your post and the banter on team 1200 this morning. There's definitely some interesting development out there that haven't hit the wire yet.....

?? I must have missed it.

Just the talk about the Wirtz era in Chicago, comparing it to Ottawa. Granted, we just played the Hawks, but they seem to be implying the next step is like when when Rocky took over the franchise, and the whole focus on rebuilding the brand and getting the fans trust and all that. Kinda sound bit like they were foreshadowing a lot. Way too optimistic, even for morning show guys.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it...
