I really wish I could just stop caring about this joke of a franchise. The guy with the keys to the franchises former team is worst is the league right now. Hard to be confident in his abilities to build something here.

Come on!: As qucik the team looses. A guy is the worst ever, and belongs to the past. And even in the past, he was suddenly very bad.
(with the start of the season, the voices where ; if the team doesnt go well now, then we know, its not the coach or GM, its the players)

And now we know. Its the players. But...Tippet wouldnt play MCDavid and Draisaitl that much. But its a fragile team.
THey need three more good players.

Its sad. Even if Chiarelli was bad in the end. He actually turned the quality of the lineup. The worst player on the lineup was likes of Pitlick and Klinkhammer (and Yakupov), and the rest of the team was actually good top 9 players, that Chiarelli in some smarta way aquired.

THen Chiarelli got panic after some really bad trades.

Draisaitl would eat a 23 year old Sedin alive and **** them out as a German sausage.

People have ridiculous expectations of him and McDavid here. No one else is the league is asked to carry the load they are asked to at that age.

It wouldn't hurt Drai to keep his legs moving, do a stick check now and then.

Guy just does glides and flybys mostly now unlike beginning of the year when he was seemingly shot out of cannon

Should've given up the prospects for Hall tbh. At the very least it would've been a huge moral boost for McDavid and Draisaitl. Can you imagine being those two, carring this sorry ass team for two months (23 minuter per game holy shit), and looking down the bench to see .... everyone else...

If we gave up no roster players and added Hall, our depth problem would be one step closer to being solved because Hall would push down other guys into lesser roles. f***ing Holland, what's he waiting for? McDavid's turning 23 next month. His prime years are already underway and we need to start competing for the playoffs at the very least.

What the f*** is he going to do this summer?

How are people still blaming Katz for this lol? He's like the best owner you could ask for, he doesn't interfere with team operations AND he gives them all the money they could ever need. Blaming Katz is just... illogical.

The blame starts and ends with the GM. Chiarelli f***ed literally everything up the second he traded for Reinhart and Larsson. There was just no recovering from that. We got pretty lucky for a year with everyone healthy and having some great luck, but that isn't coming back. Not sure if Holland is the right man for this job based on what I've seen this summer.

After deep review of Tambolland career I can say 100% he will do

nothing

****ing nothing

Lol right? I have no hope for this. Some people here think Holland's just gonna magically get us some top 6 wingers. Well one was a available and he chickened out over prospects. Can't wait till we overpay some guy like Zack Kassian or a Kevin Hayes type instead. f***.

Time to get depressed...stats from the Oilers last 20 games.

Leon Draisaitl: -28 in that span, only 7 5v5 points
RNH only 5 points in 14 games during that time.
Drai + Neal combined 5v5 goals: 4
Khaira 5v5 goals: 5

The Oilers have tried shuffling the deck chairs before and it got them into a worse position each time. **** it. If Holland's plan to get the farm team players ready no matter what and no around-the-edges trades, where they lose picks for nothing, so be it.

Walk into the room and tell them they have to figure it out. If their backs are against the wall and they show nothing it's not on the guy behind the bench or 200' feet above them fault. I watched 11 seconds of the game and I believe no coach or GM is going to win with what they brought.

Bakersfield is a tire fire. They can barely win a game. You think those players who can’t manufacture a win down there are going to help this team win? Not likely.

Holland was hired to turn this franchise around. Any idiot can do nothing and drive this team further into the ditch. There were multiple needs and areas of concern on this roster when he took over. He addressed none of them. Instead he exchanged trash with Calgary and took low percentage flyers on fringe nhl/ahl players and euros, same thing Mact and Tambo were doing.

This team is ten years into a rebuild and it looks like they are still in year one. Daryl Katz has been a disaster as an owner. We are the Cleveland Browns.

We can't blame Draisaitl and McDavid for losing a bit of motivation; they've been waiting for help on the wings for years and nothing's been done. The Oilers probably need another offensive Top 4 RD, 2 top six wingers, and a goalie in order to be legitimate contenders; it won't be happening this year

Yes...more organization needs to be done than that on the top lines. Agreed we need two quality long term wingers --pieces.
Top 4d ---very expensive to acquire by trade or FA. Plus we probably have this in system.
We need another bottom 6 centre....Ryan Mcleod not coming anytime soon. Suggest Tierney sign for 3 years.
A 1B goalie-- the right guy --so hard to find--more expensive and risky to sign--goalies always a gamble.
Hopefully Benson makes Lw on the bottom 6 energy/scoring line.
Hopefully one of Lagesson or Jones or Persson improves their defensive game and makes a leap. Would sure help our cap and Hollands flexibility in acquiring other assets if one of them could play bottom pair and the other good enough to be 6/7. K. Russel at 4 million on bottom pairing coming to an end.

Just 1 game and we need to develop this year still. Chill everyone
Yes ...its time to take out a bit of bottom 6 trash and give some farm kids a few games...one at a time.
How will this fan base react to more losing because of rookie mistakes?
But this is the next logical step.
That and acquire at least one of the 4-5 long term pieces we need before the trade deadline.
No not Hall --that would have been stupid.

Watched the highlights, or lack there of. Just a pathetic showing across the board. This team can’t score anymore. 9 of 12 games with 2 goals or less. Working ourselves out of a playoff spot. Looks more and more like the start of the season was a total fluke and this is the real team. It seems the more games they lose the more frustrated they get and actually play worse.

I keep thinking we will get out of this slump, but it just seems to get worse and worse. We have the rangers coming up next week, and I have zero confidence we can beat them :(
