End of Season Pressers (Monday May 15)

Yea, this shows weakness in everyone involved.

And the end result is an entire organization waiting for an indecisive GM to make a decision on if he'll continue making decisions for them.

Realistically all of Shanny, Dubas and Keefe should be fired. Results havent been there plain and simple. But Larry/Board I don't think fires Shanny at this time. My guess is they keep him for now to figure this mess out

I just wonder - we never see him anymore. He hasn't spken once this year I don't think. Maybe he steps down

Yeah, I agree with you guys.

My only concern is that if the idea is to trade one of the core pieces, especially leading up to or at the draft to acquire more draft capital, I don't know if I want an interim GM pulling the trigger on something of that magnitude that could alter the franchise's course for the next 5 to 10 years.
 
This entire situation was created by the board insisting on Dubas having a lame duck season. Made to look even worse by the fact they have now offered the extension....

Should have decided that Dubas was either their guy or wasn't way earlier, and now will be scrambling to sort things out with less than two months to the draft if Dubas' rejects the offer

It's just crazy that we haven't heard a peep from Shanny with everything that's been going on from the team winning a series to now all this Dubas/Keefe speculation and it reeks of dysfunction within the management group.

I think it's time to bring in a new set of eyes and someone that has no bias towards any of our current players or playstyle. I think Dubas has done some good things but also some not so good things and there isn't a standout point of success (presidents trophy, 1 long playoff run or even winning our own division when it was TB/BOS/FLO). I could even see him going on to do well with another franchise but similar to when a coach loses a room, I think we need to really evaluate our entire operation and I'm not sure that can be done to its best potential with the current regime.

If you say you'll bet your career on the core and also only ever hire one coach in your entire junior/pro hockey career and then both things don't really pan out, I'm not sure how you don't have to own those two big mistakes. If Keefe is a bad coach and needs to be fired, well what does that say about Dubas's ability in identifying what makes a good coach if this is the only person he's even trusted to run his programs.

The chances of Matthews bolting to Arizona go up drastically if Dubas is gone.

If Matthews won't resign, then Dubas will be fired.

Not sure that would appeal to him. Other teams are inquiring about his availability to interview (the Flames have already reached out to MLSE for permission).

I don't think he'd want to go the interim route if he has GM aspirations

Offers were made throughout the season and Dubas decided to wait. All on him.
