End of Season Pressers (Monday May 15)

Firing Dubas and Keefe are easy. Doing Shanny at the same time a little more tricky unless Pridham gets promoted to acting GM. Then they could navigate the draft and contracts etc. Pridham is the money guy anyways. he is probably best armed for negotiations.

Does anyone remember what time management talked to the press last year? This seems like normal end of year stuff to me.

Yeah, it's interesting. I personally think it's Shanny who will fall on his sword, followed by Keefe. Shanny will speak in the days ahead meaning once he is canned.

Just my take, as hot as it might be.

Maybe they’re using the press conference to maneuver into “evaluator” vs “evaluated” roles.

Most people made the decisions about 88, 16 and 34 during the last few years, the playoff just passed isnt the only reason for the changes they'll make. It's not just the need for cap space although that is a part of it.

I feel like they were quick to come out and put out fires in 2021 and 2022. Don’t remember the exact time and minute the Zoom call started though…

Meatloaf singing two out of three ain’t bad won’t cut it for me on this, Shanahan is as culpable as Dubas as Keefe. I hope ownership realizes this………

Best part about Shanny was how he slithered like a snake under a rock and was hardly heard from or seen. Someone called him a snake or something when we hired him, funny stuff.

Somebody needs to pick up the pieces and deal with Matty and Willie extensions. Between Shanny and Dubas, I'll take Shanny. Shanny can also hire a GM in the meantime and he can be fired this summer if need be.

Shanny can't really speak today and commit to everyone coming back unless he has Dubas signature on a new deal, as that would give Dubas all the leverage in contract negotiations going forward.

In terms of elevation.

The Peter Principle states that an employee continues to receive promotions to work in higher ranks up to that point where he reaches a level of incompetence. In simple terms, the higher the hierarchy ladder an individual goes, the more likely he is to fail in his new position.

Problem is I don’t trust him to hire anyone, he hired Dubas, boy wonder who’s achieved nothing, if given the chance Shanahan will hire another newbie, perhaps Haily’s next up to bat!!!!!

Most Dubas fans are Leaf fans so a large majority of the secretive Dubas fan club will remain with the Leafs.

The move for Shanny to let Dubas/Keefe speak today while he waits a few days tells me that he's evaluating their futures. He cant go up there today to say they are back or not because he doesn't have that answer yet. I dont think the board is going to fire Shanny, seems they are going to keep him and let him make the decisions on the GM and Coach.

Masai/Bobby did a similar thing last month. He waited a week to evaluate his coach and timed his presser for the firing. This could be for Dubas or Keefe or both.
