Post-Mortem Monday: Mark Giordano

*Wasn't dealing with any injuries during playoffs.

*Believes in the core. Calls them great, unique players.

*Bitter day. All about playoffs, especially at this age. Didn't get the success he wanted, individually or with team. Hopeful that getting to the 2nd is something they can build on.

Jokes aside, it is bad when management can't be punctual. It trickles down the organization a sense of casual attitude. When managers can't be punctual employees don't feel the seriousness of the matter at hand.

I worked at a place for years where someone who was counted on to be available during all working hours never showed up on time and disappeared early. Started with showing up 15 minutes late then 30 an hour late then over time eventually over 90 minutes late and would disappear an hour early (but make a remote phone call or two to seem to still be available). Being one of the people expected to cover for him when he wasn't available, it wasn't very motivating to show up on time myself. I literally started coming in very late and staying very late to stop getting every urgent matter thrown at me. And of course nobody did anything to discipline this behaviour. It was this way for years.

We milked everything we could out of Gio too early in the season. The decline was rapid and honestly sad to watch. Seems like a great guy and obviosuly has had a solid career.

First time watching this? It's like this every year and every team. I don't understand being upset with this. It might be time to go do something else if you're just waiting and getting insulted they are wasting your precious time.

Players are cleaning out their lockers, getting into meetings and talking to the media when requested or when they can. You don't see any journalist upset about this because it's typical and expected.

They never said the presser was at 9am. They said the day starts at 9am.

It’s concerning that they can’t even take time to get together for 30 minutes and address the media.
It’s like they’ve gone separate ways in their minds already.
Instead of coming up with excuses, they don’t even care to give any.
