Yeah he got speed, that's why Gorton and Hughes target him. Fit perflecty on the new mentality.
He is a crash the net type scorer and some analyst on tab said his downfall is he don’t create his own plays , well ain’t that what Suzuki need on his wing ?

Are you sure he’d be eligible to play in the AHL? I thought that if a SHL player is not drafted in the 1st round, they can only play the NHL or the SHL.
Heineman, Lundqvist och Åman förlänger
After verification, his contract with Leksands is valid till 24-25 , so the AHL wouldn't be an option, unless he has an out clause . Somebody would need to confirm whether he has a clause or not.

Seems to be a much superior prospect compared to Tuch and Mysak. Not sure why we are not more excited about him.

If he is the same tier of Jesse Ylonen level of prospect, that's pretty good. I really like Ylonen.

Eric Leblanc of RDS spoke with a scout who said we should temper our expectations. And that he sees him as a 3rd or 4th line winger in the NHL.

I mean he's a 2nd round pick so yeah expectations shouldn't be all that high, but he certainly has potential to be a top-6 player it's all down to whether he can continue to improve year to year. People should in general temper their expectations, but at the same time there's good reason to be excited about him.

Definitely.

I see Emil as evolving into the type of player / prospect all Habs fans wanted to see Jacob Olofsson to become...

I keep seeing posts about how Heineman getting traded twice infers a negative aspect. It’s all the contrary:

Hughes gets profesional athletes SOOOOOO much better than MB did. It's hilarious, since one actually lived the experience, whereas the other has only worked in the periphery... good reminder that just because someone has a certain experience, doesn't mean they actually understand it! (especially when it comes to former athletes...)

I think he's a pretty underrated prospect. 11th in points per game all-time in the Swedish Jr league, and 2nd in goals per game after Kopitar.

He's got speed and hits like a truck, very strong on both the forecheck and backcheck. Very much an NHL-style game. Reminds me a lot of Podkolzin in that he's got skill, but also plays with that pitbull-type of engine and grit. Might not have a super high offensive ceiling, but a very valuable/fan favourite type of player.

It's one of the advantages of being a former agent . Hughes does bring a different perspective .

What is nice with his highlight. He seems to be a guy who works hard on corner to get the puck and get points. It could translate well in the NHL. In comparison, sometimes those european skater, you watch their highlight and they are producing withtout really pressure or opponent around them cause they are just fast, rink is bigger and dangle well. In the nhl. They lose this time and space….

91.9 Sports FM spoke with Leksands GM. He says that he's a good skater and has a great shot. He reminds him of Viktor Arvidsson, versatile.

Bexell spoke with his coach after the trade and he compared Heineman's shot to Olofsson from the Sabres.

I watched him on many videos. I get a Pacioretty vibe when I watch him. Good frame, very powerful skater in straight line, great shot, able to score goals, but not a passer. Calm down. I am not saying he will be the next Pacioretty, all I say is that I see similarities.

Then why on earth even bring up this name? Why not compare him to Adrian Kempe, Carl Hagelin, or Zach Hyman?

Not sure why so many are questioning his ability to play top 6. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having strong 3rd line players especially with size, speed and grit. Those guys are hard to play against and can eat valuable minutes versus top lines. Especially in the playoffs. I love having players like Heineman and Tuch who fit this mould in the system.

We need to hit on our 1st round picks to get stronger players for the top two lines.
