The fact he show similar/slighty better stats in SHL than Lehkonen and Eller at same age. This encouraging.

He looks have better hockey IQ than Eller and finish more his plays than Lehkonen.

We grab a pretty good prospect, same tier of Mysak/Ylonen.

I feel more confident about our ability to develop him than we did Lehkonen too

You either have a freakishly deformed hand with way too many fingers on it or you have a terrible memory.

Just off the top of my head: Mats Naslund, Kjell Dahlin, Peter Popovic, Andreas Dackell, Nicklas Sandstorm, Jacob de la Rose, Patrick Kjellberg, Patrick Carnback, Eric Gustafson.

Isn't Vedjemo Swedish?

EDIT: I forgot Norlinder.

If anything another Swede in the ranks may help Norlinder long term.

Sure he could be a great player.. but great players coming from SHL have higher point or a lower percentage hitting their ceiling. He sure looks like a prospect who'd do well on florida right now.

What he said was, "Make your best offer", which implose he's going to pull the trigger shortly. It's intended to create a sense of urgence and comes on the back of the Toffoli trade which went to a team with a lot of direct competition.

It's an attempt at parking a bidding war. "Well, I got this from them, can you do better?"

Thats not what he said or meant

He suffered a concussion in the game on February 17th (just a few days after the trade).

Godin had an article in The Athletic that said he's started to skate and will need a week of practice before he gets back in the line-up.

Thanks, good news.

That is what I said in the Smilanic thread when I said the similarities between Smilanic and Heineman is that they are both great skaters and both have great shots.

IMO Heineman is a pretty underrated prospect, most Flames fans had him outside of their top 5, he actually was closer to 10 in their rankings, but I suspect they were all underrating him big time and didnt know much about his game. Heineman was my 1st target day 2 of that draft, he almost dropped to us, but Florida drafted him just a few spots over our picks. As you say, strong skater with a very good shot, but he is also very strong along the boards and has some nice hands. He plays a north american style of game and his game will easily translate to the big league. I value Heineman pretty highly, he was for me a late 1st and wouldnt be surprised he if ended up having a similar impact as Jacob Pelletier will on the Flames, great middle 6 that you can move up and down the line-up, a guy that will give his all every shifts. Heineman is why you trade Lehkonen if a 1st is offered to you.

If Smilanic is anything close to that level, Hughes deserves a status beside the Maurice Richard one.

Agree with that. In Hfboards Montreal 2020 draft boards, some people wanted Heineman drop to MTL 2nd round pick. I really like his skillset.

The highlights I saw from this kid he reminds me of Pacioretty the way he looks and skates.

Like the comparison. I think we grab a underrated and solid prospect in Emil Heineman. Hope Habs can pick a good player with the 1st CGY pick, to make Toffoli trade looks better. But right now, i'm happy with a Heineman type of prospect on prospect pool of Habs.

Anyone know if he's injured again or healthy scratch these last few games?
