Over-react much?
It's a joke. Kinda

Bad luck or bad player assessment by the old/current scouting staff?

Maybe we should replace the European scouting staff instead of just ignoring the next Forsberg, Lidstrom, Karlsson, Ekholm, etc...
I should've put a sarcastic face in there. I'm joking. I do agree that the scouting and drafting has been garbage.

If he doesn’t make the team out of camp i’m not sure he’ll go to Laval. He should though.

He should.

But he is still under contract with Leksands in the SHL. Leksands paused that contract while Heineman tries to make the Habs out of camp. However, if he doesn't crack the Habs, we can't say with 100% certainty he will go to Laval. He may prefer to return to Sweden and try again for the Habs next year.

I'm sure the Habs would rather he stay here, whether he makes the Habs or has to play in the AHL. But like Norlinder last year, Heineman may prefer to go back home for the year.

Everyone wants a hall of fame top 6 every time and I totally get it but you cant build solid teams without solid middle sixers too and this guy just feels like such a player in a few years when we've taken off the runway in HuGo's plane
What do you base this on? Curious.

I think he can be a better version of a Lars Eller, at wing. He is going to score more goal. He have underrated offensive potential, he have great tools too. Product same production in the same age of Eller at SHL too, not bad at all.

He’s not a sleeper, HF Habs is just asleep on him.

I could see a Tomas Holmstrom-type of career. Guy with average to good size, who’s just strong as a bull and plays a huge physical game and can score in multiple ways. But I think Heineman has some tools that Holmstrom didn’t - he has a better shot and is more dangerous on the rush, and won’t rely as much on collecting the garbage in front of the net.

When will we know if he made the team?

...keep forgetting we have him...hopefully, he makes the team and puts some pressure on some of the useless floaters we've collected in the Bargain Bin Era...
Drouin, Armia, Byron, Gallagher, Hoffman and Dadonov?

Aka all the wingers save CC and Anderson lmao

...I wouldn't put Dads there...he showed in Vegas he still has at least some skill left and the drive to use it...

We already know he won't make the team....unless a giant surprises, too many wingers already

...if we can't move them before the start of the Season, Armia & Hoffman to waivers...and yes, I'm dead serious...

Holmstrom wasn't a 3rd the skater that Heineman is. That's a huge difference that affects a player's style of play. But, Heineman is far from afraid of contact and can bring many aspects that Holmstrom could, if that's the game plan with him that offers better opportunities.

I'm not particularly for transforming a player's game, though, and I don't really see the comparison with Holmstrom, TBH.
