I’m just waiting for you to insert a much better New Jersey Devil into the discussion.

NyQuil and Xirik are my two of my favourite posters, bit shocked to see a little hiccup here.

But then again I’ve had my fair share of hiccups with both

Pettersson got absolutely smothered by Hischier last night
It wasn’t too long ago on these boards where people thought NJD was foolish for drafting Nico over Pettersson or that Pettersson would be the best forward from the 2017 draft class.

I haven’t been watching Vancouver games this year but it sounds like Pettersson has been playing bad hockey ever since he got his contract extension.

We’ll see what ends up happening

I really should have taken a screenshot back when it was 70/30.
You really think people changed votes? But like, where’s the integrity ? I dont buy it

I don’t think poster is saying anyone changed votes, think assumption is most of new votes are going to Stutzle.

You’re probably wrong, I say kindly and gently
I lol kindly and gently ,
ok then, why is the vote much closer now.
So you don’t think votes were changed
And you don’t think new votes are going to Stutzle.

Maybe you can explain why then, is it magic.

We have a misunderstanding I believe

I agree the new votes are going to Stutzle, I was challenging NyQuil on his thought (kindly and gently), that people are changing votes

You said the poster (I think you were referring to Nyqs) wasn’t referring to people changing votes, so I just posted his quote of him saying exactly that

Would be interesting to see this poll if it was ran from scratch today. It would be very hard not to take Stutzle at this point, and EP has had more than enough time to work his way out of a "slump" and change the narrative on him this season.

Something doesnt smell right with EP, imo. Not only does he play behind another very elite centerman (and apparently now has some friction with him off the ice) but his motivation and compete level seems to come and go to often for my liking. Especially if you consider his massive new contract.

Every part of Stutzles game looks like its still getting better. hes playing the most minutes of any forward and in all situations, and his defensive game has grown by leaps and bounds. And the list of players that are more valuable than Stutzle on his current deal is growing smaller every day.

Classic HF all these posters will go back into their hiding hole when pettersson ends the season with more points than stutzle while also being better defensively.
lol classic nucks poster, Petey is a -4 which is 16th best among nucks forwards

Stutzle is +8, which is first among Sens forwards.

It will be interesting to see in 5 years who has been better. Or they could have equivalent careers. It's truly impossible to know right now.

It's good to see players that should be compared with each other, and are peers, when you consider some of the ridiculous ones posted at times.

Are you really using plus minus to determine defense ? And that’s not even arguing one way or the other as Stutzle has some strong underlying defensive metrics this year (as does Pettersson). It’s just a terrible defensive metric for many reasons, but in main part because it involves offense. Pettersson has given up 1 more goal against at 5v5, but has been on the ice for 8 fewer goals for at 5v5. Pettersson’s GA and xGA is mid-pack for forwards on the Canucks, but it’s in part because he plays some tough minutes, especially without Hughes.

Eh, he’s got a lot of ground to make up and after a hot stretch has gone cold again. I keep hoping the old Pettersson can show up but I’m not sure it’s going to happen this year.

+/- is not great but Stutzle’s made big strides in his all around game. His defensive reads and support have been good for sometime now but his puck management has always caused problems when it comes to chances against. This season it looks like he has bought into the idea that less is more and it’s really showing up in his defensive metrics.
