Elias turned 30 yesterday. 30 is when NHlers, on the average, start to regress quickly with age. We have him for this year plus six more full ones after. Full NMC until the last couple years where it drops to an NTC.

He’s been fine defensively, but for near $8M AAV to age 37, I sure hope he finds his offensive game soon before the regression really sets in.

You are right, I think Marchand has slowed down a bit, he is not awful, but he is certainly not the guy we are use too. Brazeau, I have mixed feelings, I know he has put a lot of hard work to get there, and you have to pull for the guy, but he is not a second liner, and I have my doubts he is a NHL player, not meant to be harsh. Lindholm just does not move the needle for me, maybe if his contract was not such an anchor, I would feel differently.
When the new CBA is negotiated, will there be one buyout that doesn't go against the cap? If so, there is your buyout.

If it gets negotiated into the CBA, and Lindholm isn't having a lingering injury that is causing his mediocre play this year, they will use it and if its Charlie Jacobs left, I doubt he fires Sweeney for it.

He has scored many goals over the years in front of the net. I don't see that player in Boston

Personally I don't believe this to be as true anymore, peaks are being pushed with all the nutritionists, trainers etc, these guys have. And depending on their style, especially guys who don't rely on speed or physicality, they can be good players into the mid 30s before dropping off.

In the points hierarchy of the team, he's where you want to see him as the third leading point scorer of the team. But almost to a man, the points are less than expected. We definitely need to see more from Lindholm, especially with getting pucks on the net. He's averaging over 18 minutes a game over 26 games and only has 35 shots on the season. That is not good. Hopefully the philosophy change from Monty to Sacco will see an increase on shots on goal ( I think it has for the team as a whole ). His defensive work is very good and he's reliable enough at the dot.

Happy to see him getting his point a game sort of pace.

But I was really disappointed in his d zone coverage on one of the goals last night. He's not supposed to make that mistake. I'm expecting by year's end, he won't.
