Calling it now:
Reinhart moves to center and plays so well that Bylsma doesn't consider him back at wing.
Reinhart and O'Reilly look like a reasonable substitute for Krejci and Bergeron, and the Sabres are the surprise story of the first half of the season.
First i thought after seeing jack was hurt. Reinhart never plays wing again on this team.
I'll take overreactions for 500 alex

I like that group... Reinhart no longer occupying the 2nd line wing, opens another door for Girgensons at least. Since Girgs doesn't have much of a place on the team prior to 15 going down.Ennis - ROR - Okposo
Kane - Reinhart - Girgensons
Foligno - Larsson - Gionta
Des - Grant - Fasching
The team's weakness is still defense. We might not make the playoffs, but it won't be because Jack Eichel missed six weeks with a high ankle sprain. This forward crew is good enough to lead a .500 team.
Let's say, worst case scenario, he misses the entire season. Do we still lose a year on his contract?
This is more my concern than anything at this point. a) Don't rush him back and b) Please please please don't be one of those injuries that the player just "isn't the same again" even when they are healed.I'm kind of over the injury at this point. Probably had a good 30-45 min mental breakdown.
But I look at it as, if we're so worried about our team after one injury then what's the state of our team? Games are at least 60 minutes, we have a guy go down who plays 1/3 of the game time on average. Yes, he's our franchise guy, but contending teams(whether playoff contending teams or stanley cup contending teams) shouldn't have to worry about one player going down.
Just move on and hopefully we have enough depth to hold us over until he comes back healthy.

One positive here is Buffalo only has 8 October games. If Eichel only needs a few weeks to recover, he won't miss too many games
IMO, "a few weeks" is the absolute best case scenario here.
I'm fully prepped for a "New Years at best" scenario.

I'm prepared for him to be in the lineup tomorrow and everyone is all
