The only sliver of a silver lining is it might give Perfetti some nice experience or even a chance to stick
I guess you didn't see Ehlers absolutely screaming at the refs when he got to the bench, if he was wanting time off i don't think he would have been so angry besides we have played 3 games in 16 days , he's had lots of time off.Told ya he's going for the ol extended allstar break. This is a textbook winnipeg players move, more than any other team in the league. I'm not saying it's not a significant injury, but I do find it funny how often our stars are out for weeks and weeks with injuries that don't require surgery (see Buff).
He also executes everything at high speed on his edges, thus also contributing to dramatic ice capades.Yep.
Nik may dramatize the odd foul (he was a very, very good youth footballer, remember) but he also takes a ton of punishment, much of it straight-up or borderline penalties all game long game in game out, and shrugs most of it off and still drives play and scores like a champ. He is no malingerer, nope, not a chance.
Here's hoping he heals up properly and soon.
You captured a piece others seem to miss. You won't see most guys fall as much or as spectacularly because their speed is lower and the vast majority of players aren't nearly as aggressive on their edges. He's pushing himself on almost every shift. Unlike some of our other star players who don't fall as much as they used to - it's not just because they're steadier on their feet - they also don't push themselves. He also executes everything at high speed on his edges, thus also contributing to dramatic ice capades.
The Littlest Viking goes from very high speed to playing Zamboni with a stick to the feet, hook, etc.
Can't really fault him for collecting himself after being upended or hacked/spun around by the velocity challenged players.
I do agree he does put on a little extra sauce to try and get the call, but he's far better than he used to be...but so much goes uncalled on him.
That’s fine wheeler is our next best forward as long as they are treated like a second line stas chef and wheeler could be good but I want Connor’s line to lead the team in ice time.Big opportunity for Perfetti but also likely means a steady diet of 55-26 for the foreseeable future.
Especially for plays that can result in season ending injuryI never understood why the NHL dont hand out longer suspensions in the regular season, I mean its 82 games. Sitting out for 2 games is hardly much of a problem.
Anyword on how the rehab is coming along? I thought Hextall mumbled something about Ehlers training? not sure what she was trying to say.
They are being very cautious with timelines, but it's already been ~ a month since the injury so I would think 2-3 weeks from now he should be ready.I had made a post like this a couple days ago on Ehlers, and the response was -- it's going to be awhile ? So I guess it's a significant injury, unless I got the wrong information.
More like this..scar tissue takes 28-40 days to heal, so I think three more weeks would be about right if he keeps skating every other day…and daily the last week..They are being very cautious with timelines, but it's already been ~ a month since the injury so I would think 2-3 weeks from now he should be ready.
