Funny we have such high standards with goalies. No one says Laine missed two scoreable shots after all players score from the slot. Yet if a goalie lets in a goal we talk about stoppable shots.

Scheifele needs to stand up for himself, if and when he does this opposition players will stop taking liberties on him, of course Buff riding shot gun or in Buff's case the back seat is a great deterrent.

Anyone mention Helly’s .897 on the night, the soft goal sounds like it could have been the difference in getting a point.

Helle has stopped a few deflections as well. He was fine tonight, hardly helpless in the crease.
We've gotten to the point where every goal allowed is micro analyzed and second guessed . It's absurd.

Ok I’ll agree that Hellebuyck is good, but not great. Against Nashville he was great. We need more of those games.
He's in his early 20's so let's give up on him now in his 1st full season as a Jet. You know even tho he got an assist last game.
I mean if he's not getting it done let's trade him for a 7th Rd draft pick.

Can't blame Helly tonight either, deflections and perfectly placed shots.
Jets are a better team than stars. Just not tonight. Too many bad penalties (captain took a bad one) and missed chances like Laine hitting crossbar again. Really happy with 4th line production our depth is great.
Might have stolen the points if they left Laine in 1st for 3rd period. Who knows.

I guess you could blame this loss on the refs, or put the blame where it belongs--and that's on the Jet's uninspired play, and taking way to many dumb penalties. The Jet's deserved to lose this game IMO.
The Jet's are a way better team than Dallas --and hopefully we blow them out next time.

I am in Mexico and missed the game but did predict this was going to be a tough game....too much emotion in the last few wins and this had trap game vs a wounded animal written all over it.

I love HFBoards Jets fans that I haven’t ignored.... but.....I agree with that post. I am not sure if it’s “more than any other team” but we are tough to beat in this category.
Overall, a very poor effort. Should’ve been about 7 or 8 to 2, but Dallas is a garbage team that couldn’t capitalize.

Meh
Our team is constructed that way and our coaches seem to want us to play physically and on the edge. We have historically lacked discipline under Noel and Maurice and our penalty totals are an accurate reflection of that. I think there are lots of mistakes made by the NHL officials against us and all teams for that matter but when the smoke clears we reap exactly what we sow. When I watch how we play compared to most teams I think we should be one of the most penalized teams in the league.
