And yet one of the slowest skaters in the league in Maroon could still pot 14P in 16GP with McDavid. Even if Lucic slows down with his skating (which no one can prove will happen), he can still play with Connor McDavid and probably produce at a 1st or 2nd line level at the end of the contract.
2 years too long, but who cares? They are better for the next 5 because of this.
If Maroon can be that productive with McDavid then why pay a guy $42 million for seven years.
Chiarelli should've traded RNH to NJ for Larsson and not just for Larsson. Would've been good for NJ to get a number one centre.
How exactly is Lucic in decline? Do you have any stats to prove this pile of ********? or do you just follow the rest of the HFsheep?
Lucic said it was the "McDavid factor". Awesome. Perfect fit for that team IMO even though the term is bad.
Also 2/4 of his last seasons were <1st line production. It's probably for the same reason that Hartnell supposedly is - i.e. presumption based on age.
Unquestionably makes the Oilers a better team overall; I just hope that circumstances are such that they can keep said team together.

I'm guessing the huge offer that no one else would match was a bigger part of it.
The seven year deal and $42 million which was a year longer than anyone else would give also was probably a small factor.
Yuck, wouldn't you rather have Hall for 6 mil per?
Lol. Brutal.
Larsson and Lucic in, Hall out. Just terrible.
