Anyone know if there is a NMC or NTC? If there isn't one then I can certainly live with it, if there is its two years to long. For now good signing though.

Shero has straight up said he refused to give up Larsson for anyone not named Hall(not counting McDavid obviously). Edmonton tried to trade RNH or Eberle for him.
As you should already know, both teams have to agree to a trade..

It's probably for the same reason that Hartnell supposedly is - i.e. presumption based on age.
Unquestionably makes the Oilers a better team overall; I just hope that circumstances are such that they can keep said team together.

Chia's done his job on paper now if they can stay healthy next year they will most likely climb the standings.
Wouldn't be surprised to see them get a little helpful push from the league as well with a favourable schedule and some "benefit of the doubt" from officiating. Bettman is all about making money and the new face of the league leading his perennial laughing stock team out of the basement and into playoff contention in just 1 season that storyline just writes itself and would be great for the league from a marketing stand point.

The seven year deal and $42 million which was a year longer than anyone else would give also was probably a small factor.
The guy is 27 for goodness sake. People are worrying about term over nothing.

Because the first 4 or 5 years he'll still likely be playing at a high level which is miles better than Maroon. He's better than Maroon at every single thing aside from maybe board play because Maroon is impossible to knock off the puck.
No one else would match it, you say? I guess you are Lucic or his agent or every other GM in the league?

About what I expected Lucic to get. Honestly, it could be worse - there were rumblings he'd get a $7M AAV. Lucic is an effective player, I'm just not sure he'll age very well. Still, he's only 27 right now - plenty of time before the Oilers need to worry too much about that.

Im surprised Looch is only 27. Seems like he has been around for a long time with the impact he has made on the league.
