Who cares? Every locker room has dudes that are ********s to varying degrees. This is nothing but a win. No idea what happened to Neal in CGY, but it's not crazy to think that he can rebound to 20-20-40 type of stat line. Looch has no hope of bouncing back with how bad his skating is. Watching him skate is like watching one of those trained Russian bears on skates.
What do you mean who cares? If the guy is a prick when things are not going well you think that doesnt affect the team dynamic?
What a dumb comment

I was down in Calgary for a bit last week and Mike Commodore was on the radio talking about how Neal was really embarrassed last year and is full on committed to training hard this summer. Sounds like he's spending a ton of time with Gary Roberts and the guys at Biosteel. Probably Connor and Darnell as well.

I know Mike Commodore is a bit of a goof, but he's tight with Neal and said that he's turned down multiple golf trips and fun summer events so he could train and be in top shape in the fall. Had a bit of a reality check last year.

Not at all. As Gregor and Nielson said, McDavid trained with Neal the last few years and they know each other very well. I can't see him being a problem.

Neal should be able to rebound to 20 goals if he plays with McDavid. Like this for Edmonton.

Neal is a career 11% shooter who shot 5% last year. Most common linemate in CGY? Jankowski on 3line. Obviously a better skater than Lucic, because everyone is. Likely to either get a shot with 97-29 or 93, an upgrade either way. Training like a demon with Gary Roberts to get his career back. Has a much easier buyout with zero trade clause moving forward.

I... don't see the downside to this failing a high pick or lots of retained money. The only path I saw for Lucic to get his career back was on a goldilocks PP that could put him in front of the net and swat at rebounds WITHOUT asking him to retrieve pucks from corners. Maybe that's CGY, I don't know.

Godly trade from Holland! Excited to see what Neal can do given an opportunity in the top 6. Have fun with Lucic Calgary

Neal played on Crosby's wing right? How many players can say that they played with the best player in the game twice (in multiple eras) ?

Whoa. I can't believe it's actually happening for just a pick additional. Wonder what the pick is?

Neal might be bad but he's a much better fit. I have more hope that he figures out how to pot some goals off of McDavid or Draisaitl passes than I do Lucic figuring out how to double his footspeed or learning how to deke.
