We'll have to wait for someone to demand a trade and run to Europe and refuse to sign a contract for an entire year to find out probablyI wonder who Spector is going to go after now?

Yeah. Properly coached Pulju will be a solid bottomsix player and a headache to play against as he's very strong, good on board battles, hits a lot, and can probably even be on pk an aspect of his game that the Oilers for whatever reason barely even tried. This is a manageable contract and its only for remainder of season. I think the Canes needed to get a bit bigger..Maybe the second best team in the league knows something that one of the worst run teams doesn't.
If Holland done this trade 2 years ago, he would at least got a 3rd for him.View attachment 659123
Honestly this isn't even the worst return ever... 22 years old and leads his SMliiga team in scoring
Honestly I think he's gonna thrive in Carolina with his buddies Aho/Teravainen and the trade will most likely go down as a loss for the Oilers down the road. But it opens up the cap space to get a top 4 dman and as long as we do so I'll be more than fine with losing a minor trade involving a 3rd line RW.Agreed, good luck to Jesse I hope he has a long and productive career. Great kid
No retention. Opens up $3m in cap space. Holland now has some wiggle room to make an addition before the deadline on Friday
Unless something dramatically changed, there was no win for the Oilers moving Puljujarvi, this is probably as close to one as possible imo.Honestly I think he's gonna thrive in Carolina with his buddies Aho/Teravainen and the trade will most likely go down as a loss for the Oilers down the road. Wasn't Puljujarvi gone to Europe 2 years ago and the Oilers might have lost him for nothing at all? What time are you referencing when he had that value? If Holland done this trade 2 years ago, he would at least got a 3rd for him.

Face palm Holland.
We got cap space for him ... very important leading into the deadline. If Holland done this trade 2 years ago, he would at least got a 3rd for him.

would be lolz if he won the cup there.glad he is in the eastern conference. He’s so close to being great
If JP was making $1.5M or less he'd still be an Oiler. Unfortunately, he and Yamamoto have both likely priced themselves off the team.Let it be said that Pulju was leading the team in hits all season, was being pretty good bottomsix, and was playing bottomsix almost exclusively.
Pulju had a goal and 3 assists in his last 9GP here. Nothing great but some contribution for a bottoms player.
The Oilers now become even softer to play against, Pulju with Kostin, they were a wrecking pair last night although Pulju got sat again while allstar Yama got 20mins, and topsix play for being absolutely useless and is still here.
I didn't even like Pulju originally that much but did after he came back and that Tippett helped make a player out of him during that tenure. Pulju for whatever reason never adjusted to the coaching change. Seems like he always got shorted by it as well. Wish him luck.

he probably resigns at a bargain price in Raleigh. He may yet reinvent himself as a fast checking winger.Let it be said that Pulju was leading the team in hits all season, was being pretty good bottomsix, and was playing bottomsix almost exclusively.

Basicly nothing. Puistola is too feeble to play in the NHL or in the AHL. He can score but needs the space to do so. In Liiga that is possible but not over there.Got something back for him. Win.
I really wanted him to succeed in Edmonton. I remember the shock when he fell in the draft. But both for the player and for the organization it was time to move on.
I don't know about this. Pulju had 112 hits this season on limited minutes being the top hitter on the club on a team that doesn't hit nearly enough. He was physical to play with and on the forecheck. The Oilers physically got weaker today and they're weak physically to begin with. Doesn't bode well for playoffs.Unless something dramatically changed, there was no win for the Oilers moving Puljujarvi, this is probably as close to one as possible imo.
Replacing him on the roster shouldn't be too tough. I wonder if Lavoie finally gets a call now.

As quick as Jesse somehow accepted/ got it, that his level of play is more accumulating in a bottom six role, he didnt sink the elite players, and became a somewhat player, who could stress opposition. From here it can go upstairs for him. Wish him luck.Let it be said that Pulju was leading the team in hits all season, was being pretty good bottomsix, and was playing bottomsix almost exclusively.

Jesse scored 24G in his 54GP in Liiga. Puistola with 15-16 goals per full season is not that sexy but I didn’t check how his minutes/line mates compared.Basicly nothing. Puistola is too feeble to play in the NHL or in the AHL. He can score but needs to space to do so. In Liiga that is possible but not over there.
I'd say 2M is reasonable. This is a stat down season for him but he'll have some bounceback to that and has learned to bring his physical package, and consistently. If JP was making $1.5M or less he'd still be an Oiler. Unfortunately, he and Yamamoto have both likely priced themselves off the team.
Player hasn't wanted to be here for years and Woodcroft clearly isn't a fan of the player. If JP was making $1.5M or less he'd still be an Oiler. Unfortunately, he and Yamamoto have both likely priced themselves off the team.
Pulju is around top 50 in forward hits in NHL despite getting limited minutes. The likelihood that the Oilers find somebody to do that other than Kostin is slim to nil. He's really the only other forward that even brings that package on the whole club.FFS
Yeah, need to find a coke machine to fix the toughness issue I guess. Woof man.
Yeah. This trade was just to dump Pulju to the Canes really for nothing. Puistola was just some ink on the paper. 99,99% chance the Oilers will not sign him and just let his rights expire.Jesse scored 24G in his 54GP in Liiga. No hope for Puistola but at least we have cap
