I've never ever said it's Yamos fault and in fact I haven't even written much at all about him. Easy to imagine how excited you must feel right now, I almost felt bad for you when JP was doing fine in the Oilers and you had to disappear for a while. If I were you I certainly wouldn't blame others for being excited about a player's failure. But plenty of decent posters in this thread, glad to see that anyway.
You may wanna look a little closer into my history. Because you are wrong, (not surprisingly, again) on what you say about how I viewed JP.
But yes, you were one of the ones constantly blaming other for JP's shortcomings. It was more than a common theme.

It's probably crickets because he's on another team now haha. Pulju's detractors seem to be more obsessed with him than his fans.

I keep expecting Puistola updates when I open this thread, but I should know better.
It would be the same if it was any other highly debated player. (Yams)

Also his fans aren’t blabbing because they were wrong. If he was lighting it up in Carolina this thread would be 45 pages long.

Jesse will carve out some NHL role. He seems like the prototypical Oiler that failed then goes to another team and eventually figures out that they aren't the player they thought they were.

In Jesse's case he will find himself on a 3rd or 4th line forechecking. Might play around with 10 goals a season on average. But on the other side he might just go back home depending on the money,

Good person at heart but still struggling to find that role he needs to play.
I think he'd be dumb to go back to europe. The money will be better and if he actually does turn into a solid 3rd liner the money will be massively more than he'll get in europe
Puistola has been just as productive. Neither team wins or losses
Deal allowed us to acquire Ekholm, so I think we win regardless

If you throw insults you maybe want to prove it? Show me I've been constantly blaming others for JP's shortcomings. I have a feeling it won't be coming, instead you'll just disappear after throwing the insults in like you tend to do. Good luck checking my posts, it should be easy to find support if you're right about me 😁

I kind of wonder if we see him signed this summer still. Holland said he already talked about a cheap extension and Jesse wasn’t opposed to it, but wanted a fresh start. He’s gotten his fresh start, and he’s doing even worse. He’s obviously not being qualified, so I wonder if he realizes the grass isn’t alway greener on the other side. A million a year in the NHL is still better than he’s going to get in Finland

They’re over in the Carolina thread where they should be, yet somehow you seemed to follow them over there to continue to bash and question everything about this player.

Pretty embarrassing
I may be weak, but while I don't want to get into arguments it's hard to resist when I'm followed in the Carolina' section with laughing emojis to my posts and when I'm being mentioned here in impolite posts. JP is gone and like I wrote it should've happened much earlier. His best game was gone ages ago and his salary is used in a much better way with Ekholm in. It honestly seems some are having a hard time with JP and thus their fight buddies gone so the best they can do is following to the Carolina section and trying to throw personal insults here after all this time.

I think this is a reasonable possibility. He's said several times he really likes it in Edmonton so if he feels he got his chance in Carolina but couldn't use it it's totally possible he'll sign a bottom 6 deal with the Oilers. I do think it'll take some time in Carolina as his cold period is so long so with good luck he'll turn it around like Kotkaniemi, but it's also possible it'll stay like this through the rest of the season.

I won’t revel in the kid’s failures. Besides, there’s still hockey to be played. I believe he’s a better player than he’s shown so far in this league. Maybe a full year playing with some countrymen who can teach him how to adapt to the NHL in words he can understand will change things for him. But like you say, some of his fans were quite a ways over the top. I find it irritating when fans take a super hard line stand on a player and then disappear when things don’t go like they’d staunchly predicted. No reason to take such a hard stance on most players imo. The NHL is a tough league to perform in. Only the really elite can deliver season after season.

Agreed. What I find really odd about JP though is why isn't he working on his cons? His shooting and balance on the ice? His passing? I watched one of the Canes games and he's doing the same thing with Aho as his centre. Dumping and chasing the puck, arriving at puck battles late, then skating to new ones late and etc etc. On the odd chance he does get to a puck battle, he loses it very easily.

Just decided to see how Canes fans were feeling. I literally posted to Kaptah if you go back and look. Not sure how that's embarrassing.

Man I need to fight hard in order to not start hating Yamamoto for you. I can't believe the extent to which you go to bash Puljujarvi while your guy isn't really doing better. It's not like you don't have one-sided views about one player.

Yeah I bashed him because I got ripped for saying Yam is the better player for how long lol? My view was Yam is better than JP and that JP was being overhyped by a ton of people on here. I was right on both accounts. Yamamoto is nothing special and is a top 9 winger at best. But he's still better than Jessie. That's all I've ever said.

You did more than that in the Canes forum. My post was among many to which you stamped a lauhging emoji. Not that I should make a huge deal about it, but still.

What I've never understood about you is your endless need to state Yamamoto is better than Puljujarvi. You may try to disguise it with what you wrote, but the thing is you got annoyed at anyone thinking Puljujarvi is better when you IMO should've just let it go.

Also what you said about you being right isn't a fact, it's just your opinion. I mean do you really think Yamamoto scoring 10+10 while playing with McDavid and Drai through the whole season somehow proves you right? Him and JP have sucked through the season. The big picture is neither deserves to be put above anyone this or last season, that's how sas it's been with those two.

You’d hope our fan base would be better than that. That’s the same level of pathetic as Sharks fans posting here about Kane or Leafs fans posting here about Campbell.

Like congrats, Yamamoto is sometimes a boarder line effective NHL player while playing with McDrai and Puljujarvi has proven to not have what it takes to be more than a ineffective bottom six player.

On the Canes board Kaptah says JP just needs to score 1 goal to be a first line RWer.
This either isn't true or I somehow missed that post. This Kaptah's message was written after JP's first game with Aho, in which he did pretty well. After all this time you quoted it in the Carolina's section so is this the one you meant when you said Kaptah said Puljujarvi just needs one goal to be a first line winger:

Pretty good game against Devils by Jesse. Went hard to the net, and had instant (old) chemistry with Aho. Bambi-like clumsiness in some spots and poor shooting speed & accuracy were his problems in Edmonton, and are still there. If he can get ahead in these areas he's a legitimate 1st line winger, but that's a pretty big "if". But based on these two games, I'd say he already makes Canes a better team just by being defensively responssible, physical and fast.
If this is the message you refer to I have to say I haven't seen other poster's words twisted this much for ages if ever. I certainly hope it was a mistake and not done on purpose unless I'm missing another post.

I think the team is in the right direction and last weeks have just backed that it was right to let Puljujarvi go and use that cap space for Ekholm. A few fans are obviously having a hard time without JP in the team and some of his supporters here and in a way I understand some of these reactions. As for myself I still check the results and go through the Oilers board after games (and even when there's no games) whereas I have no connection to Carolina other than JP, which hasn't given much to get excited about apart from the first three games that looked somewhat promising. I sincerely wish everyone here all the best and will try to do my part to avoid arguments.
