Always so happy....but that f***ing helmet.
To be fair I don't think any helmet manufacturer has ever had to design a helmet for a head of that proportion.Always so happy....but that f***ing helmet.
I'd give the edge to Puistola. He's done it in fewer minutes.Trade is even steven so far. Both players have the same number of points for their new respective NHL teams.
he's actually played pretty well
I've read a few media articles, players' comments and Carolina's fans comments and it seems clear he's looked good in these games. However, I think it's way way early to say where it will go. On the other hand he's not an Oiler anymore and it was time to let Puljujarvi go. If he does well that'll actually get some props to the Oilers in my eyes as trading him to Carolina was a fair move by Holland. It's possible agents and other teams players notice things like this which would be a small plus to the Oilers.I wouldn't say that. The NJ game, he shot right into a goalies chest as usual.
The rest of the game, despite looking like he was skating hard, he was getting nothing accomplished. He fell a bunch of times which if he would of actually stayed up, he could have made a play.
His best play was the diving pass that lead to a scoring chance
He definitely looks like he's putting in effort, but falling down constantly doesn't equate to looking good
It's going to be interesting up until yesterday I don't know that Carolina management had massive expectation from the guy. They had room for the guy cap wise and knew he was decent just might not put up points.I've read a few media articles, players' comments and Carolina's fans comments and it seems clear he's looked good in these games. That's true but I don't think anyone expects JP go fill Svechnikov's shoes. But if he plays in his place there will be pressure for results. He did pretty well and maybe should've got some points in the first game with Aho, but at some point there will have to be results no matter how well you do.It's going to be interesting up until yesterday I don't know that Carolina management had massive expectation from the guy. Now with Svechnikov hurt I wonder if there will be more pressure.
Tough to say, but at the end of the day I think one of the priorities was just moving JP without it costing anything.I hope we can resign Puistola. He's a UFA after this season. Will he even come over and play?

I'm not suggesting he fill a guy like Svechnikov's shoes, however help fill the void along with others is what they'll need. That's true but I don't think anyone expects JP go fill Svechnikov's shoes. He did score with McDavid and Drai, but was extremely unconsistent with his on off periods. However, you may be right in that he's had a long cold period so we'll see how it goes in Carolina. Glad many (like you) over here wish him the best, after all he did his best in the Oilers but it wasn't leading anywhere and it was time to move him.I just think if the guy couldn't score with McDavid and Draisaitl, how is he going to all of a sudden start scoring in CAR. I hope he does, but I have trouble seeing the path. Chemistry is big and there is a chance he finds it. I would be happy if he carved out a nice career in Raleigh.
I mean Edmonton has a perfect storm of centers when you throw RNH in there too.I just think if the guy couldn't score with McDavid and Draisaitl, how is he going to all of a sudden start scoring in CAR. You won't get an impartial take from bobby as I'm sure you feel about me too.So he's doing what he did here pretty much.
We should look at this way. If we don't move JP, we don't get Ekholm
Holland could have moved one of Foegele, Yamamoto or Puljujarvi. So he's doing what he did here pretty much.

Foegele is starting to finally play up to his contract.Holland could have moved one of Foegele, Yamamoto or Puljujarvi.
He moved the right player.
Foegele has been really good for most of the season.Foegele is starting to finally play up to his contract.
Yamamoto is not. I wouldn't lose any sleep if Yamo was traded for a more effective use of our limited cap space.
Both Foegele and Yamamoto do more than goal score. They PK too and our Centres like playing with them because they get to pucks first and know what to do with it when they get itFoegele has been really good for most of the season.
Yamo is a much better player than we are seeing right now. I dont think that he has recovered fully from his injury. That said I do think it would be wise to trade him in the off season.

Surprisingly I have. Jesse got to play with Aho against the Devils. Canes played poorly, Jesse's performance and instant (old) chemistry with Aho was probably the only bright spot for the Canes. Created some changes, went hard to the net, but had his "Bambi" moments also. NJ is just a very good hockey team right now.
Being able to communicate effectively with your line mates helps immensely. How many Finns on that Carolina team? How many on the Oilers?I just think if the guy couldn't score with McDavid and Draisaitl, how is he going to all of a sudden start scoring in CAR. I hope he does, but I have trouble seeing the path.
