Panthers in a nutshell,, announcer from last night's game: Leaf player in the corner comes out looking to make a play, Panthers player making it very difficult.
When I heard that, it just about sums it up. Panthers forecheck like mad, hid you in the corners, hit you in front of BOB, totally extend their sticks on sweep/poke checks etc.
When they isolate video on Tkachuk you see the heart with which they play. This guy is willing to do ANYTHING to win.

Toronto is soft. They have no bite in them, and I feel like even if they pull through this series, they do not have what it takes to win the Cup. It takes so much more than the skill of their top 4. ALL sacrifices need to be made, in order to hoist the Cup.
Last night was prime example. End of the game. Shot on the empty net hits the outside of the post and comes along the near boards. Nylander and Tavares converge on the puck, as do some Panthers. Right at the end, Bennett comes in, and shoulder checks Tavares, and a little tussle starts. What does Nylander do, he just backs up and watches his captain go against a couple of Panthers players.
It is little things like that that shows the character of a player, and a team. Im not saying the whole team is soft, but sometimes, your top dogs need to lead by example, and do things that are out of their comfort zone, especially in the playoffs. Shit, even Barkov is out there throwing the body around, who seems like someone who wouldnt step on a cockroach.
And I could care less what stats show, and whether the hits are equal or whatever. The Boston series was much more physical than this series has been. There was a hatred between the two team immediately. In this series, it feels like more of a misunderstanding from the Leafs side.

I’d agree normally because I love that speech, but the leafs are not losing 2-0 in the series because “hockey is a game of inches” or whatever (Pacino mantra). They have made big mistakes that have cost them.
I guess the football equivalent is turnovers. You can dominate possession time and total yards, QB rating, 3rd down conversion % but if you throw badly timed picks, or put the ball on the ground on the goal line you will still lose that game, and it wasn’t “close” really.
Leafs are the football team who racks up yards and gets up early but puts the ball on the ground when they can least afford to.

They should’ve listened to this guy the seven other times they couldn’t win a playoff series.
At this point I’m not sure a YouTube video is going to push them over the edge.

Well… I expected it to be a close series…. I think the games have been fairly close.
Bob has kinda been the difference maker

Well this series is over. Panthers will wrap this one in 4 or 5 imo.
The only thing I care about now is cheering against Bennett. Love me some Knies and both Tkachuk and Bennett decided to target his head last night.

Real goalies shouldnt be eligible for playoffs. Each team should have to play a non-pro Ebug, so we can see the teams who deserve to win in the finals.
Leaf fans who chanted "we want florida" ,just another example of how clueless those fans are.Good fans but they shouldn,t chant stuff like that...just chant "Go Leafs Go",we aint been good enough to act like that,and challenge other teams.They use it as bulletin board type stuff.Players talk about it to each other,and use it.They just beat the best reg season team ever after being down 3-1.

Neither one targeted his head, I wish everyone would just stop with this nonsense.
Watch the replay of Tkachuk’s hit again (from more than Omar’s angle). Bennett was trying to get around him and they got tangled up. He didn’t “target his head”. Just stop, please, you guys make yourself look so damned foolish.

I second this. Toronto is gonna come out Sunday with their backs against the wall. Even if we win that one I’m still wary.
