Beating the best team in history will do wonders for the confidence in that room. Just as the Leafs finally getting out of the first round

I’d anticipate a long series

Just shocked this is how it played out

The real question is did they actually beat a better team than we beat? I heard Boston had a sickness going around and Tampa looked much better than Boston to me.

Florida was way out of a playoff spot this year and climbed back in, then they climbed back from being down 3-1 against Boston, they climbed back to tie the Game 7 to force the OT. I hardly see Game 1 sealing the deal for either team.
Nothing to do with sealing the deal, more about the confidence of both teams

Florida is coming in with the confidence of cup winners. They just did the unthinkable where everyone had them written off.

If we lose game 1, it’s gonna put doubt in the leafs head and further fuel Florida’s confidence.
Otherwise, we can start to shatter that confidence which can help turn the tide in the series

Nylander is getting paid. He gone. Matthews......he's pulling a reverse pajama boy and heading home to the desert. You will be left with Pajama Boy and the Sherminator from the Big 4.
Getting paid by who? What team better than the Leafs has the cap space? The Bruins? nope The Avs? Nope

He's not leaving to go to some basement dweller like Montreal. Arizona gonna write Matthews a cheque using monopoly money?

Matthews is staying and then McDavid will come in a few years time to join him. The Habs are going to look even more like a minor league team than they are now when that time comes.

Leafs in 5. Every game will feel like a home game for the Leafs.

Same thing I thought. Does home ice advantage for the Leafs matter as much against Florida? They get last change but I don't think I'm exaggerating saying 30% of the fans in Florida will be Leafs fans. Last night when the Leafs sealed it, the arena was on fire in Tampa. Tonight in Boston I heard a giant gasp and then complete silence.

The Panthers have a very strong team and just eliminated the Boston Bruins. This should be a very competitive series. There is no way that Toronto is just going to walk all over them. The Panthers can easily win the series. I think the Toronto should win it, but there are no guarantees.

Both teams riding a huge wave of momentum coming in.

But I picked Leafs in six (same as I did against Tampa) because I don’t really like Florida’s D depth. Montour, Forsling and Ekblad right on - then Gudas, Mahura and Staal, and the Leafs just eviscerated Bogosian-Cole-Sergachev in Tampa.

Should be a hell of a ride, looking forward to Tuesday.

Yeah I really doubt either of these team's confidence will be shaken after 1 game.

Panthers in 4, the cup hangover will be too much for the Leafs.

You could tell from their interviews they were all talking as if they won the cup, they weren’t saying this is just 1 round and we have a long way to go, they were saying how proud they are of themselves for winning and how big of a deal this is. Losers to the core.

Matthews said in his post game interview this is just the first step and we have 3 more and didn't sound excited at all

And that's with Tampa being the 3x East winner. Florida isn't that and doesn't have the bandwagon that creates. The snowbird Leaf fans down there are going to be in full force.

I really think people are underrating Florida here. I'm seeing "Leafs" easily. Or, "Leafs in five".

If Florida can come back from 3-1 against Boston, the 65 win team, why can't they beat Toronto?

Maybe I'm missing something here?

Because I'm not seeing Toronto as a much superior team.
Can't help but wonder if it's Leaf haters just trolling
I predict Leafs in 6, just like I did last series.
I think TB was actually the best team in the east, after seeing all the teams play in the first round. Boston didn't impress me. Florida looks good, but I think the Leafs will take care of them in 6.
Will be mostly close games though. Will not be easy at all

hard one to pick... was Boston that bad or were the Panther that good? probably somewhere in the middle. I think the Panthers will test the Leafs D and goaltending more than the lightning did. On the other hand the Leafs could explode offensively vs the Panthers.

I think it will be a high octane, high scoring series. Going to go with panthers in 6 because they eliminated freaking Boston and Bob looks like he has found his clutch side.

Tampa looked way better than Boston, not even that close really. That's despite some key injuries to their roster too.

Uhhh literally every leaf said it's a first step with a long way to go...what interviews were you watching
