After endless bitching about Bennett and Gudas all series long, there's now Leafs fans and journalists who want both of them on the Leafs

My thumbs are numb from the shit talking I've done on Twitter to Leafs faithful.
My own family is next, t-minus 5 hours, even my mother will hear it

Bro’s about to get banned from his own family Lmaooo

big if true: we need the fourth line to do something more

Damn, he had surgery ~4/23 and is close to a return? That sounds awfully quick, but I’m def not a doctor

Quote from Bill Zito, taken from LeBrun last article in The Athletic (about us clinching and Leafs being eliminated)... He is asked what he thinks about this group qualifying in ECF, and he talks about the resiliency in our group, then adds this:

"And, Paul Maurice is a hockey coach"

Guess that buries Brunette as the strip coach !

:naughty::laugh:
Why does that have anything to do with brunette? Just sound like praise to PM to me.

Pretty sure it is praise to Maurice but if you look at Brunette through he Tampa series last year his face looked like he was thinking more about being buried on some strippers ass instead of making adjustments to beat the Bolts.

Keep bringing up adjustments like maurice made any 🤣

RE: Wampa

That’s your opinion.

I’m sure you would’ve had the stones to rip up the President’s trophy winning team in game 4, 5, 6 of an ECSF.

Notice how the leafs changed up everything last game?? Oh wait… no they didn’t at all

It is only praise for Maurice...

Just me that took a little free shot at Bruno. lol

But everybody can see the differences between our two last coaches !
I respect your opinions BB.

But considering the luck involved in making the playoffs and surviving game 5 in the Boston series.. sweeping definitive statements about PMs ability are misguided to me. We could very easily be talking s*** about him like has been the norm for 80% of the season.

I’m still defensive about Brunette, he was an easy target for hate but I don’t know what everyone expected him to do with the Presidents trophy winning team.

We can be happy for the current team without putting him down at the same time.

People on the Maple Leafs boards make good and bad points.

Good points are
- Matthews sucked again, not a playoff guy
- Marner the same
- They’re ruled by insanity - repeat the same over and over
- They lost the series going 3-0 down, like they were gonna win 4 in a row after losing 3 in a row and stars invisible

Bad points are
- Leafs were better
- Refs screwed them
- They were gonna come back
- Bob was lucky
- Panthers aren’t a good team

I get your defending Brunette... But with his demeanor last year against Tampa, and his DUI...

Always loved the player and I defended him, and also was one of the posters around here that wanted to keep him as a coach.

And I wasn't a fan of Maurice, never has been... But he grew on me through the year, and I could tell by January that he had the character that we needed.

We can be happy for this team and also praise the job done by Zito who clearly saw some things we didn't... Making fun of our past losers is just another way of praising/enjoying this current team, the changes and Bill Zito ! ;)

It got to the point it was just hard to watch this team. So many injuries, hellacious schedule and a team trying to redafine itself. Praise for the few here that stuck it out but these are the true hockey gurus here that I give praise all the time.
I’ve always defended Bob but even that became too hard. So what happened ?
Injuries got better, schedule became more favorable and the team literally became a different team transitioning to the new concept.
Chucky started to inspire the troops and we now sit on the precipice of a something greater than fiction.
I think if anything we still can change and see a difference is our power play. That can get better. And we could every now and then get those F-16’s flying more sorties. We will need to do this against Carolina especially on their home ice.
We are blessed thank you Cats for the adventure hopefully of a lifetime.

I'm going to agree with the opinion that if not for Buddy Robinson KO'ing the Penguins, we would probably still be calling for Paul Maurice's head.

But that's in an alternate reality. In this reality, the Panthers squeaked into the playoffs by one point, Sergei Bobrovsky is playing the best hockey of his life, and Paul Maurice has now outcoached Montgomery and Keefe (IMO) in two playoff series the Panthers were supposed to lose.

There is a 100% chance Paul Maurice will be the coach next season, and he should be. The team has made it to the Eastern Conference Finals after knocking off the team that had the best regular season and a Toronto club that I personally felt was the best team left.

All joking and bullshit making fun of the Leafs aside, Toronto is a good team that presents serious matchup problems for the Panthers. They were flat out better during the season series. Florida just beat them in five games, and it's not like they were fluke blowouts. Both teams got good goaltending, and it was actually Toronto that got most of the puck luck bounces in the series (puck off the ref, own goals, etc.).

I think Carolina also matches up very well with the Panthers and should be a VERY tough opponent, but let's be perfectly honest: we all saw that Devils team for what it was during the season, a bunch of soft ass p***yes playing fast break hockey. They squeaked by a mediocre Rangers team on the back of a hot performance by Schmid, and the moment he cooled off they got obliterated.

Just enjoy the ride. I think these guys can maybe pull it off.
