Power Play was actually decent this round.

Um, it converted sure. But it didn't look decent. That 1st PP goal yesterday for example, most of the PP was terrible. But then Ekblad scores a weak one against Woll, and it shows as a successful powerplay. But truthful it was really bad and needed a bit of luck at the end.

Barkov put on a defensive clinic. Everyone keeps talking about how the leafs didnt score but dont say why.

Bob is the main reason.

Ah! Never seen that angle before. You are right, even if the puck was over the line before the whistle, it still would not have counted. Reilly never actually touched the puck there, but rather only the pad and pushed it in over the line = goalie interference.
I just watched the game this afternoon European time and I was very surprised that so few people on this board and even worse all the journalists and analysts on the official NHL broadcast did not see the stick push by Reilly on Bob's leg. That should have put any discussion to rest, batting1k is 100% right.

What a great team effort this was, congrats to the team and all hard core fans on here that never stopped to believe! Nobody can overlook as anymore, what a great feeling.
TOR was so much more skilled and deeper than us (Nylander and Reilly were very impressive). But the team stuck together. Bob will give us a chance against any team right now. Let's keep this thing going!

And the one in OT actually was good and produced 3 good opportunities but didn't score. It evened out.

And even that first one produced a great chance to start and Woll had to sprawl out to save it.

And Good Lord. The want to discredit PoMo through this season is actually hilarious while the same people were defending Bruno.

The PP this season was analytically better than last years and part of that is the want to plug Ekblad in needlessly and having Huberdeau in an inefficient area of the ice.

We scored more PP goals this round than we did all last year. Shit. We scored as many goals on a delayed penalty as we did PP goals last year.

And "much" better defensively?

Last year was -2% based on Hockeyviz models vs this year at +1%. That's "much" better?

Is this directed at me? I was not opposed to Brunette being let go. I just thought Maurice was a very meh replacement. I don't think the PP has been decent. Never looks particularly dangerous for the most part.

And Bob was our MVP against Toronto. He is the main reason for shutting down the stars of Toronto.

While it looks ugly a lot of times, it analytically performs and it leaps and bounds better than last year's. Last year the PP relied on the rush to score and the faucet was shut off in the playoffs which is why they struggled mightily

Yes, the PP was terrible last year in the playoffs. I just don't think it has looked particularly decent this year either.

I think this is a good time for the Panthers to go on a heater.

The wave of transplants from northern states we've had since 2020 is a little different from past immigrants, in my experience. Much happier to be here, more willing to embrace the positives rather than dwell on "Evyting was bettah in New Yawhk." And more young families, rather than retirees or bachelors. Historically, transplants keep wearing their Rangers or Bruins jerseys, but I think we're going to see some conversions. Different sort of arrivals, IMO.

Also, not too many people noticed, but beer league and youth hockey signups have surged over the past two years, which I think is good for growth of the game here.

NHL has to wait for the West to finish their series. If needed, the Game 7's would be Monday (Dallas/Seattle) and Tuesday (Edmonton/Vegas). They would need a day or two off before starting the West Final.

Thank you

So happy for our core four of Weegar, Huby, Ekblad, and Barky
