WOE is us pearl clutching merp merp. See he really IS hurt boo hoo

Get over yourselves. A guy got banged up and he's gonna miss a game. The Bruins have one of those cases as well. Come to think of it, Lindholm isn't even going to be in the building tonight so at least Raanta has that going for him.
They are mocking the Bruins fans who said it was a dive. Compare it to Lindholm all you want once you can show me a post on here of a Canes fan saying Lindholm dived. lol

Was so befuddled that Boston was so heavily favored coming into this series. Carolina has been a top 4 NHL team all year, and more so to the point, Carolina swept the season series outscoring Boston 16-1, with two shutouts

In saying that, I think Boston wins game 3 in convincing fashion; but Canes take it in 5

Raanta is fine. You can all put your pearls away.

Where the hell were you reading that? Boston was not the favorite to win this hell our own media is cheering for them to get swept

What is Andersen's status? Completely out or potentially returning at some point if the Canes get through the first round?

Pardon my ignorance here, but that play with Clifton and his hit on Smith? I think it was Smith.

Anyway, no call on the play. How can you review that? If you can review that, you can review anything, no?

I thought they could review a called penalty… but this wasn’t called a penalty. Also, was never called a major.

If they indeed can do this, why can’t someone be like “well, I was hooked 45 seconds before this, go roll the film, take a look!”

They called it a major and then reviewed it, realized it wasn’t even a penalty, so they kept watching it over and over rather than say it out loud to the crowd that had all seen the replay 15 times.

FWIW, brick Last night said the linesman blew the play dead and called a penalty after the fact, and since linesman’s can only call major penalties, they got together, and dropped it to a minor. I didn’t see any notion from the linesman calling a penalty, so I’m not sure where Brick got it from. But to your point, yea it happened because the nhl just makes shit up in the middle of a play off game, cuz why not? After all who is going to stop them, and all they need to do is either totally ignore the fact that it happened, or put out some nonsensical explanation that only confuses the situation further. It’s called playoff hockey??

Not to start a bad back and forth but before the series started a Bruins fan posted that we highly over rate our own players, but I think the truth is most of the hockey world under rates them badly. I dont know if we have anyone with true superstar potential but Aho, Svech, Turbo and Jarvis would be top 6 on almost any team in the league. So while we may not have 3 players on the level of Pasta, Rat, and Bergeron our top 6 are worlds better than Hall Haula and Debrusk.

Hell Haula couldn't even stick in our bottom six

Haula wasn't sticking in Boston's bottom six either, but since Haula started playing with Hall and Pasta on Jan 1st, he would have been 4th on the Canes in points (1 behind Turbo) and 3rd in goals.

Hall would have been first on the Canes in points.

DeBrusk only 2 goals behind Aho for the team lead since Jan 1st.

Bruins were a different team after Jan 1st.

And even looking at career numbers, Hall and DeBrusk are way better than you are giving them credit for. Hall is a 60-70 point guy that has won a Hart and DeBrusk averages 25 goals a season, including this season.

edit: snippier than I meant to be.

I don't visit the general boards much anymore, but ah, good to see you're still a shit stirrer.

One positive for the Bruins last night was the PP. The goals were fine, but what I really liked was their movement once they got in the zone. Its too hard against the Canes aggression to do the your normal PP setup. Bruins were a lot better in running a much less organized PP and it was reminding me of how Tampa succeed against the Canes last season.

Bruins have to cut down or get in the way of the Canes shots from the points.
I feel like 60% of their goals have come from getting pucks through from the point either tipped or out muscling them for a rebound.
Looks like Marchys back, hopefully he keeps this swagger up

First time this series last night the bruins finally played the way they played from Jan 1 on and the results speak for themselves. Don’t think the canes team was exposed in any way, just think the bruins showed up finally and proved the gap isn’t really as large as many people (myself included) thought it was. Looking forward to Sunday.

I thought the Bruins closed a lot better on those high shots and gave the Canes less time to try to get it thru where they wanted.

LOL. Yeah, hitting a guy in the face is 100% clean. WeAr yOuR glAssEs. Smith had blood oozing from his nose; kind of hard to dispute that one. Maybe some people should put down the rosy colored fan glasses for a minute.

Well the guy that I said wear your glasses to said it was an elbow which it 100% wasn't, it was a boarding penalty. He didn't hit his face either, Smiths face hit the glass, but hey if you're just going to post without reading the OPs I guess that's what we should expect.

As a Wild fan, it was fun to see Nino and Coyle grinding it out against one another. Two big boys. I believe it was Nino who tried(and failed) to catch Coyle on the backcheck on Coyle's goal....he always was the slower of the two.

Assuming that the rest of the team is playing well, Coyle is always the X factor for the Bruins, for me, because he is usually a mismatch for whatever #3c is put out against him. Not so much in this series- Staal can be a handful.
