I think Shara for Wood is more likely.

The team loves Wood. But they've shown plenty of love for Bastian too.

And you have the lefty rights aspect of Shara in for Wood over Bastian.
I think Smith for Bahl. Lindy isn’t going to seem to push the panic button by going to Schmid or to Luke. He’s going to settle things down. That’s what I take away from his press conference.

No, Eddy.

What we need is for our Goaltender to NOT do a Blackwood imitation.

What we need is for everyone else except for Jack to WAKE THE F**K UP!

What we need is for the Devils NOT to go 0-4 on the GODDAMN POWERPLAY!!!

What we need is for Lindy Ruff to stop standing there with is arms crossed and COACH THE DAMN TEAM!!

Jack was horrible tonight. Minus the garbage time goal. It was total irony he got a goal since he was least deserving of it, compared to some of his teammates play. (None were stellar). Nico showed he can play a hard game, just needs to score.

Glad we broke the shutout but that was horrible game.

Before that goal, I thought Jack was one of the worst forwards tonight vs. Expectations coming in. So many soft plays.... Lead to transitions back.

Hope game 2 is better for him.

I don't want to see it, but wouldn't be totally upset if they went that direction.

I was?

When was this? Weeks ago after a random game during the season?

no. In the pregame thread. Some guy said if Gallant preps his team properly and adjust to the devils, it can be a short series. I agreed and said I have 0 faith in Ruff to make proper adjustments, to which you and other people said all kinds of crap like, amazing regular season, tons of comeback wins etc.

I know what I saw, this team won in spite of Ruff. Now their playoff inexperience was unable to get them past the adjustments Gallant made. Ruff has to actually earn his check now, I'm not confident personally, but we'll see

Ruff has never shown any ability to actually make tractical adjustments. He just shuffles lines and probably gives motivational speeches, which can only go so far in the playoffs.

The fear will be gone game 2. Buttercup Bratt and the others who were having anxiety attacks will adjust.

equal parts fat and flour. Usually butter slowly simmered until toasting to a nice yellow to dark brown for a nuttier flavor. Used as a base for gravies, sauces, and thickening soups and stews in general.

Flour and butter gravy

both questions were rhetorical.

ok....to clarify....

i know what a roux is.....but i dont start with it....that was the intended 'joke'

i use the rendered fat off some of the fat from the pork shoulders and legs from my annual january sausage making.

end result after making pork rinds.....stores well in fridge until needed

Hot take - Brunette is overrated

If he can't be trusted w a decent power play, how are we gonna trust him as a head coach? Average isn't ebough
Our PP was merely OK this season despite tons of talent.

Now, as I've said above, maybe our talent is better suited to 5v5 play(and really better suited to 3v3), and yes we were significantly worse last year, but still, our regular season results don't suggest Brunette did an excellent job with the PP this year.

If we produced offense like the Rangers did tonight we wouldn't have won either. They created even less than us in terms of shots and chances.

They're very opportunistic with their PP's and they have the benefit of facing an average goalie.

But we are talking Shara here, a guy who has played a big role for this team.

Not the ridiculous Foote for Wood stuff after 1 good game by Foote.
Shara might play for Boqvist, and Lazar might play for Bastian, but I’ll believe Wood as a scratch when I see it

Oh I think I remember.

But I don't think anyone should fault me for believing in the team and its accomplishments at that point, though.

And sorry if I was not expecting what we just witnessed after all the buildup tonight.

I am entitled to change my viewpoint on things, you know?

He isn't wrong and is the core of the issue tonight. They were not ready.

They didn't game plan properly. They didn't come out with enough fire. Gave this one to them
I tend to think the early PP's threw our game off, more then the team not being ready.

We probably would have been better off finding our footing 5v5 for 10 minutes or so.

I use roux for a bunch of different recipes from a bunch of different cuisines: queso, Alfredo sauce, mac and cheese, bourguignon, French onion soup, etc. Very useful technique.
