If we produced offense like the Rangers did tonight we wouldn't have won either. They created even less than us in terms of shots and chances.

They're very opportunistic with their PP's and they have the benefit of facing an average goalie.
And I'm sure now their fans are (rightly so) thinking SWEEP based on how bad Vitek played.

Thursday is an absolute monster of a Must-Win.

We cannot head to MSGarbage down 0-2.

We just can't.

I'm not that worried about being down 0-2 cause we're a very good road team and we've done well at MSG, but it'd be less than ideal. Young team learning in the playoffs will have lots of value for our future.

What cut of beef did she use?
Chuck diced into cubes. I asked her about the roux ..she said not technically.
she seasons the meat then coats it with flour and cooks it this this blue ceramic looking pot and then deglazes with red wine.

I also don’t think the series is over at 0-2 because they have Schmid in the pen now. If it was Blackwood…

Oh I think I remember.

But I don't think anyone should fault me for believing in the team and its accomplishments at that point, though.

And sorry if I was not expecting what we just witnessed after all the buildup tonight.

I am entitled to change my viewpoint on things, you know?

I'm not faulting you at all. I was just surprised you went all crazy on me in that post lol since you don't really do that to me and I had to point it out.

you can also coat with corn starch to get this nice crust while browning and it will also thicken the stew like using flour - popular in stir fries to make that crispy beef but tender inside.

Even the 2017-18 team snuck a win in

Im really not bummed at all about this loss; though I am hoping they got out all the nerves and bad juju the first time around

Also, I think Smith in for Bahl and Shara in for Wood makes sense.

Wood was a non factor, and Bahl just didn't do enough. We can shit on Smith all we want but he does play composed.

Depends on if you're a "they played like shit cuz they were nervous" crowd. Those people better hope for a 1-1 tie. If nerves caused them to go down 0-1, they ain't coming back 0-2 going into msg.

I think that last point is the biggest one. They are largely just kids. Jack Mercer Bahl Bratt Hischier Boquist even McLeod and Bastian will all improve dramatically with experience. I can understand their nerves and inconsistency. What was disappointing was Vitek to some extent although he wasn’t why they lost in my view and more importantly thr awful coaching that gave them no chance to compete. Just awful PP and PK.

I want an elite goalie so bad. Freakin' Pens shitting the bed kept us from getting Wallstedt.
Gonna be interesting to see what goalie Dubas brings into Pittsburgh for next year.

He’s struck out on his last couple with giving MraSUCK a three year deal (thanks Chicago) and taking the remaining two years of Murray’s expensive cremains off GMWAT’s hands. Samsonov was able to cancel out that Murray disaster.

Jack was horrible tonight. Minus the garbage time goal. It was total irony he got a goal since he was least deserving of it, compared to some of his teammates play. (None were stellar). Nico showed he can play a hard game, just needs to score.

Glad we broke the shutout but that was horrible game.

Before that goal, I thought Jack was one of the worst forwards tonight vs. Expectations coming in. So many soft plays.... Lead to transitions back.

Hope game 2 is better for him.
Idk, a couple poor decisions and tried to do a bit too much, but he could’ve had a bunch of assists. Believe he set up Tatar with a beauty from behind the net, and Palat if my memory is right.

I think that game went about like I expected it to, in all honesty.

We looked like an inexperienced team.

They are very very skilled, but inexperienced. I think this same team in 5 years could dominate the playoffs with any coach tbh. Just like they dominated the reg season with the bum we got on the bench.

That’s really good stuff. I am considering trying to smoke a chick roast instead of a brisket and see what develops

I think coaching only goes so far there. A lot of the plays that were made were forced, and even then they just looked hurried and forced. Other than a few looks we were basically bumrushed to every puck on the PP and PK. The players need to take fault in that.

Bahl played zero PK minutes tonight, so there is no benefit to inserting Smith in over Hughes in that regard. Granted if Sieg's or Graves takes a penalty that changes things.

Just looking at the 5v5 possession #'s we were "dominant" as a team, and Bahl's numbers "look" darn good as well. Now obviously total grain of salt given we got smoked, but he was not on the ice for a goal against, so even from the "we were dominated, while we dominated the possession numbers" don't factor against Bahl either.

End of the day, if your trying to show lack of panic, you don't make a move and stick with D as is. Not sure I see an argument for Smith over Bahl really.

Now if you are looking for a spark, and trying to add a dynamic presence, then Hughes would make some sense, but I don't think I'd do it after this game.

Remember, Thursday is open for the GDT.

To the bunch of 'Devils' fans that are never around normally that called out my GDT: Go f*** Yourself.

One thing is Smith can also play on the 4th line, he's been used like that before. That might be something to keep an eye on.

Luke would definitely be a panic move, we had guys crapping their pants being too cute as it was, and we think that won’t happen with a 20-year old in his third NHL game?
I dont think putting Luke in would be a panic move. Power play sucks. We need some alternate options next game so lets play Luke ahead of Bahl to give Rangers a different look. Even if it was just for PP2.
