You need to let Krejci go. He left. He hasn't played NHL level hockey for a while.

Time to move on
Oh I have, you misunderstand. My point is we didn't adequately replace our #2 center. Hall doesn't drive the line the same way as he did when he had that playmaking partner. It's a deficiency that hurt us and ultimately cost us the series.

I'm not too hurt by the loss anymore. There was a chance this roster could have pulled it off but there's so many heavy hitters in the east this year. tough loss, okay series, good season. But at the end of it all, bergeron is my biggest concern.

And to be brually honest I think I feel bad for the diehard leaf fans at this point... That's a good team and I really like Matthews, but man we've been through the lows, and they suck. But at least we have the highs.
Exactly it bothered me a little, but I understood the circumstances. I moved on from it. Whatever the off season brings with a coaching change , or upstairs , rebuilding, or going all in for another year I’m good with any option.

agree with Foligno and to a degree, Jacobs family and who`d blame them? If I owned the team and made a pile of dough based on playoff revenue I too would like the boys to make deep runs all the time. The Jacobs approach years ago was one that always left a sour taste in my mouth, felt like every bloody year they were in a contract squabble to save $$$, not really the case over the last 10+ years

I can`t speak to his level of gives a crap when it comes to the Bruins, I`d say he cares more than we likely think so but what I think is that the argument or belief that the Jacobs family takes short cuts when it comes to the team can`t really hold water in the cap era. While the choice of what players to sign to reach the ceiling can be questioned, the Jacobs family has allowed whomever is GM to spend to the cap every year. I`d be pissed if this were a team consistently 10 mill under the cap yearly but it isn`t
Ice plant not withstanding?

The east is so stacked this year who ever comes out of it is a coin flip . With 3 of the 4 1st round series going to a game 7 tells you all you need to know about how competitive it is .

I honestly feel the Bruins could have won this series , just the luck of the draw . What I really doubt is that they could have won 3 rounds before taking on and beating the team from the west. They just aren't built like that.

I would really like to see a change in direction management wise. They keep doing the same dumb shit year after year and they're expecting different results. Just way to many mistakes to forgive at this point .

What does the future hold? With Bergy's future up in the air and Marchand right behind him , two of the most important pieces of the offence aren't getting any younger. The question marks grow by the day. Meanwhile dumb and dumber think signing guys like Foligno is the answer. Unless both Lohrie and Lysell come charging out of camp like raging bulls the next season could be a long one, especially if Bergy calls it a career.

If I'm Bergy the only way I keep going is if I can see a cup in the near future and I'm not sure how he would see that being even a remote possibility.

I'll always be a Bruins fan regardless but I think it's time we prepare ourselves for some lean years. Management has licked that can down the road for as long as they could but we're running out of race track here.

This could well be a captain being a captain.

Or it may well be the final nail in the coffin of a rapidly retiring group of teammates playing a game and moving on with their lives, each very well deserved. Chara. Rask. Krejci. Bergeron? Following Savard. Thomas. McQuaid. Ference. Boychuk.

Whether leaner days ahead or a miracle solution, change is coming. No doubt.

Yikes. Sorry disagree with those in bold

Replace them with ? Not much available. You especially don't trade Pasta and Brad. I am almost positive they will NOT be traded.
I know they won’t be traded. Actually nothing major will chance with this team.
Those are the ones with trade value, in order to get high picks/prospects and other established players.

Trade Pasta while you can... before the new 8/88 deal packed with NMC. Imo Pasta will not age well.

Marchand my favorite player... he won't be happy with barely if at all making the playoffs for a chance of a series of one and done. Get the value while you can.

Hall??? Is not a core player, he gaves the illusion that he's one. You don't build a team around him, he's just a part that won't be needed in the near future. Same can be said for Coyle, Haula... there all interchangeable pieces.

Carlo... get value while you can.
Ullmark... very difficult to move specially with all the NMC, NTC that Sweeney gaves away like candy.

Susan, do you honestly believe the Bruins have a better chance to make the playoffs next year?

The longer they wait to make major moves, the harder it will be to get out of it.

I'm not talking about tanking here... I'm saying change the FO. The Bruins need new blood from outside the Organization, they need to stop the bleeding of trading high end players for cents on the dollar, like Thornton, Seguin and set the franchise back.

They need better drafting, better players development, a better vision, plan... they need a f***ing identity.

The Bruins have lost their way.

Nevermind Bergeron, Marchand will price himself out of town and has huge value. Never thought I’d say that but he’s gonna want out and not stick around for this full rebuild.
I hope you are wrong.

Yes, and his value is at an all time high. He also won’t love the idea of being here for a full rebuild during those three years.
Maybe he will wearing the "C"

I think he has plenty to offer still.
For any team getting Patrice at his age gets you either a #1 or #2 center plus a pk specialist.

Why Montreal? Because as Vito Corleone said "I'm going to give him an offer he can't possibly refuse."
Montreal needs to re-establish themselves and they WILL go after him. And if they do, it'll likely be more than what we are going to offer.

Plus...Quebec is home.
Bergy is NOT going anywhere. Certainly not to the Habs.

Silly talk

I honestly see the canes going to finals now maybe pens if sidney is ok.
Florida and Flames for me

Go Panthers. Calgary or Colorado from the West.

I always want Edmonton to lose and possibly shake one of their C loose. Any team with that many 1st overalls and that losing record is a joke.

This is why I don't have Marchand here longterm. He's too valuable as a playoff performer and will want another run at the Cup. Boston appears to be heading into full rebuild if the top C in Boston is Coyle.
I don't think the Bs will do a "full' rebuild.

Not happening. Not a smart move.

You do realize both are excellent players that are underpaid. Both are top NHL players and those don't come very often.

You get f***ed if you move them.
We're already f***ed... some people just take longer to realize it. That's all.

I like you but you are ALWAYS so negative.

I don't know what will happen with the Bs .

Clearly there are holes to be filled. Where they find these players
who knows.

If I was as miserable as some of you I wouldn't watch.

I actually enjoyed the season from Jan to the playoffs. I still knew there were missing pieces and that the Bs would not win the cup.

Maybe you should cheer for another sport or another team.

Here’s my optimistic take…

The Bruins already have a “core” in place with Marchand; Pastranak; McAvoy; and Hall. What is desperately needed are centers for the top two lines, and some QUALITY depth to flesh out the roster. I know Taylor Hall can be very effective with a good center on his line. We’ve seen it with Krejci.

The front office and especially the scouting department are what really need to be blown up and rebuilt. The Bruins can be retooled even if Bergeron departs, but smarter people than the current front office need to be at the helm.
