Just an all-around fantastic effort by everyone on this team against one of the top two or three favorites to win the cup. I am proud of all of them . Some of the hot takes against this team and it's management are absolutely ridiculous.

I would agree with this sentiment if they where new to these playoff failures but they’re not.

Tough series. Carolina was just a little bit better than us. I have no complaints with the effort and the compete level. Gonna be my last post for a while, since I simply can't sit through the next 72hrs of idiotic posts about how our GM, coach and players all suck.....

Have a great summer, everyone.

If this is truly the end of Bergy's time in Boston, then I tip my hat to him. He (and the core) did not have their window maximized by Dumb (Sweeney) and Dumber (Neely). He had every right to complain about all of the terrible moves that were made from 2015 until now and he never did. He deserved more than 1 cup.

On an equally somber note, how long until Jacobs announces that Sweeney has been extended?

Chokey organization.

Makes me love and appreciate the one Cup I’ve seen in my lifetime all the more.

But rooting for this organization is one root canal after another.

The fact that they had Bergeron, Pastrnak, and Marchand locked up on the deals they had them on and failed to fill out the rest of the forward lines adequately year after year is a failure of inexcusable proportions.

The situation Sweeney walked into was probably one of the best possible starting points a GM could ask for.

Shame we have nothing to show for it

The Big Smoke (unfortunately)
They should have won way more with this core that also got fueled by the lucky Toronto-trade turning into Seguin and another top 10 pick. After 2011, Many thought this could be (some sort of) dynasty. They botched it BADLY.

These guys were held on for way too long. Nobody connected to the Seguin-trade and 2015 draft fiasco should have kept their job for one day longer than necessary.
Yup. But the Bruins potential dynasty was over the minute that f***ing matt cooke ended Savard's career. Imagine a centre core of Savard, Krejci and Bergeron? Still, should have won at least two as is.

2019 gift to the finals and losing game 7 blunder can cost you years. So far 3.

I can just hear Sweeney in a week or two when Bergie retires:

‘We spoke to him and he talked……and are suprised we had no idea Patrice would retire…..and we see that trades are hard……and…… yet…….we feel Foligno can help in the playoffs and he gave the hospital money……so……..’’

Love Patrice, much sadness if this is it, but you have to admit Staal owned him and his days as a dominant #1 center are over.
He could extend his career for a number of years and be effective and productive, but it would have to be in a lesser role focusing on PK and his defensive skills. Sort of like how Trottier went on to an extra couple cups with Pittsburgh. Asking him to be the #1 center is asking too much at this point.
I think the window just closed and we will now pay the price for drafting poorly and trading away too many picks and prospects for attempted cup runs.
Sadly, it's over. I just hope we don't sink so low we swap places with Buffalo.

Hey guys, great series. Normally I don’t drop in to opposing GDTs but just wanted to share a detail that was likely not caught on camera — after completing the handshake line, Bergeron went out of his way to find all 4 officials and shake their hands. He was the only player on either team to do so.
