But Stormy wants a piggyback!
Yeah for just a second there it was heading in the direction of a viral social media moment
But Stormy wants a piggyback!
So far, all is merry and bright
Only minor gripe with him is another flying out of the crease to try to get himself killed play.
Trying to think of a better game from Kochetkov.
Oh he was really good too. I mean when you have a mich more talented team, that plays a more aggresive scheme and much better defense than top that off with a great game from the net minder. So Kooch isn't "goalie-ing" them like they're making it sound like on the Canes audio broadcast?
Whalers night last yearTrying to think of a better game from Kochetkov.
No after the game the broadcast went from 100% Islanders to Canes are tip 3 team in the east no problem, definite cup contender.I think we won this game, but it sounds like the Isles won handily and the scoreboard is a typo?
He's a character...

God that cheesed me so muchFootball crazy? Oh lord
No... We are to poor at hockey Source Bucchi and Weekes.
You could make the argument that Jordan Staal is a top 5 forward all time for this franchise. You could argue he is as impactful as Eric Staal. It's weird because he really does have hands of stone compared to most NHLers but he's still the best of the best of the best defensively so it doesn't really matter. It's remarkable how good Staal, Martinook and Carrier/Jarvis have been this year.
Out of 83 lines with 100 more minutes together 5v5:
Staal-Martinook-Jarvis:
2nd best in the NHL for xGF%,
4th best in the NHL for CF%
Tied 18th for GF%
7th GA/60
Staal-Martinook-Carrier:
7th best in the NHL for xGF%
4th best for CF%
tied 18th for GF%
10th GA/60
The kicker is they are doing this against the other team's best competition night in and night out and many of the other lines are much more sheltered.
Great game from Pyotr last night. Hopefully he goes on a hot streak.
I was asking myself last night “Does Jordan Staal get his number retired?”. Gonna be a tough sell for some people on this forum with his lack of offensive production. But if you look at the defensive metrics, that many of us glance over, you do gotta give it some consideration. He’s been a big factor to our sustained success in the Brind’Amour as a coach era.You could make the argument that Jordan Staal is a top 5 forward all time for this franchise. Sometimes, one doesn't exist without the other. If a guy has great hands/offense, he may not focus as much on other parts of the game, particularly when younger. You could make the argument that Jordan Staal is a top 5 forward all time for this franchise.
