Anyone who thinks this team will rebuild is going to be disappointed. The goal every year for papa Jacob's is to give a roster good enough to at least make the playoffs. No way he's going to want to give up that playoff money

After 30+ years of being a B's fan, I'm not sure if I'm tired of hearing this is true or tired of it being true.
Maybe both. =D

Heartbreak. The bad news is this series showed us how far we are from a cup. With only Bergeron and Marchand left from 2011 it’s time to stop talking about the window. That one closed when Chara left imo. The good news is while it may not seem like it with the cap and recent results we have a strong start to the new window. Swayman and McAvoy are capable of stealing a series on their own. Lindholm looks great at times (do some squats this off-season!) the forwards need to be revamped. A transition game is fine but you need some guys who are going to just hem guys in and keep pressure on. We need to get meaner (Nick Deslauriers is priority #2 this off-season). We need to learn how to get those dirty goals again. And we need a damn #2 center.

FYI if Bergeron retires disregard everything I said. We’re F’ed

They were one of top seeds a while and like most faded over time.It was fun.Never executed to win this series

As you would expect with an aging core. In their prime they were a top team and as they've gotten older they're still competitive, but not what they once were. Still the point remains that Jacobs goal for both Neely/Sweeney is to at the absolute worst put a product on the ice that gets fans in the seats and can get into the playoffs. That's why I don't think you'll see this team "rebuild" anytime soon.

Sometimes, the simple fact of the matter is the other team is just better, and Carolina was.
Yup. No easy matchup in the East this year no matter what seed you are, and that's why there are 3 game 7's.

They're close, but the Canes are the 55 in the 55/45 matchup. Better team certainly won. We held our own, but their guys came to play in game 7.

Some interesting decisions to be made this offseason. Do we start a rebuild, or retool? Depends what happens but I don't want to be stuck in "purgatory" for the next few years.

Man I have you beat and if one thing I learned is a player always comes available or free agent sooner or later.Dubois be my target he is not resigning in the Peg are good odds & habs loaded at centre soon so no room to go home.

My guess is they bring Krejci back and try again. If that's the case I will be pretty disappointed. This team needs a major overhaul from top to bottom, management especially.
They lose game 7 by 1 goal. If they won. They may have gone to round 3 or 4. Very possible.

I’ll start by stating that I love the player and he’s my current favorite Bruin.

However.

What is Marchand without Bergeron at center?
What can you get for him at the draft?
Is his value increasing or decreasing over time?
